Senior Specialist, Securities Operations - China Securities

Position Purpose

• Bring Direct contribution to BNPP Securities China Project Operation Agency/Proprietary team setup and operational permanent control framework
• To help find operational solutions to new business development initiatives
• To strongly support & develop the best practices within Global market operations
• To ensuring all procedure are drafted, reviewed and updated to fulfill local regulator requirement and global standard
• Minimize operational failure, including but not exclusively the risk of fraud by helping to devise and by implementing sufficient regular controls
• Ensure appropriate escalation to management and/or permanent control (or compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

The position is responsible for the following main activities:


• Bring SME knowledge of China Securities Market Agency/Proprietary Operation Front to Back workflow including reference data setup, account opening, trade support, cooperate action, Pnl, clearing and settlement, GL posting, reconciliation etc


• Familiarized with QFII client supporting model is a must for Agency Operation team; Index future, Commodity Future & Option experience is a plus for Proprietary Operations


• Familiarized with local vendor trading system, finance system etc. Know how to talk to different system/vendor onshore and offshore during the project setup stage in order to facilitate data flow feeding


• Expertise knowledge in China Securities Market A shares, Fund, Bond, South-connect, Options products trading/clearing/settlement workflow


• Familiarized with local regulatory reporting in the subject areas, including CSRC/SSE/SZSE/CSDC/PBOC etc. Know day to day reporting requirements including client suitability reporting, CSDC unified platform reporting


• Could be one of the main contact to face exchange/clearing house, particularly on the project setup stage. Know how to do the required application


• Previous China Securities Company setup experience is a plus for this position

Contributing Responsibilities

• Assist Ops head to set up the full operation department to fulfil local regulator and firm global standard


• Assist to identify Ops control framework

Permanent Control Aspects


For all staff other than managers:


- Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework.
- Contribute to the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, such as Control Plan
- Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines
- Contribute to the reporting of all incidents according to the Incident Management System
- Ensure audit recommendations are resolved within the specific timeline.

For all managers:


- Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework.
- Responsible for the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, such as Control Plan
- Responsible for ensuring team members to comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Responsible for reporting all incidents according to the Incident Management System
- Responsible for ensuring job descriptions are written, distributed and updated
- Ensure audit recommendations are resolved within the specific timeline.

For Global Markets Middle Office, Operations, IT, etc.:

- Minimizing operational failure, including but not exclusively, the risk of fraud, by helping to devise, and by implementing, sufficient regular controls
- Ensuring appropriate escalation to management and/or Permanent Control (or Compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified


Technical & Behavioral Competencies


- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Well-developed interpersonal, problem solving and influencing skills
- Exhibit high willingness to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Solution driven, highly motivated and able to lead team to set up the business


Specific Qualifications 

• All staff should hold CSRC Securities Practitioner certificate
• For specific qualification, please contact China Securities Compliance & HR to confirm qualification requirement
• Strong attention to detail with ability to produce accurate and quality work under tight deadlines and minimal supervision
• Good understanding of Securities industry, specifically Securities, framework
• Good understanding of SSE/SZSE Product/trading rules, CSRC/ CSDC regulations, risk control requirement
• Hands on experience in Operation daily activities
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)
