WHO WE ARE
BNP Paribas is a leading bank in Europe with an international reach. It operates in 68 countries and has more than 193,000 employees, including nearly 148,000 in Europe. The Group has key positions in its three main activities: Domestic Markets and International Financial Services (whose retail-banking networks and financial services are covered by Retail Banking & Services) and Corporate & Institutional Banking, which serves two client franchises: corporate clients and institutional investors. The Group helps all its clients (individuals, community associations, entrepreneurs, SMEs, corporate and institutional clients) to realise their projects through solutions spanning financing, investment, savings and protection insurance. In Europe, the Group has four domestic markets (Belgium, France, Italy and Luxembourg) and BNP Paribas Personal Finance is the European leader in consumer lending. BNP Paribas is rolling out its integrated retail-banking model in Mediterranean countries, in Turkey, in Eastern Europe and a large network in the western part of the United States. In its Corporate & Institutional Banking and International Financial Services activities, BNP Paribas also enjoys top positions in Europe, a strong presence in the Americas as well as a solid and fast-growing business in Asia-Pacific.
As one of the world’s pre-eminent banking groups – and the first ever French bank to set down roots in the UK in 1867 – the breadth and depth of our presence across the country means BNP Paribas is able provide UK companies and investors access to a full global suite of products and solutions in Europe and worldwide. This, combined with our long-term commitment to the UK, is what truly distinguishes BNP Paribas from other international banks operating in the country.
Our Securities Services business, which forms part of CIB, is a leading global custodian providing specialist post-trade and asset servicing solutions to buy and sell-side market participants, corporates, and issuers. Based in 35 locations around the world, our award-winning Securities Services teams have built one of the most extensive custody network in the industry, giving clients the connectivity and local knowledge, they need to navigate change in a fast-changing world.
BUSINESS AREA/DEPT OVERVIEW
Client Development
The Client Development team comprises of Sales, Relationship Management and Client Services and has the responsibility for managing our relationships with clients and prospects that are based in the UK. Our clients also represent many different market segments including banks, brokers, asset managers, hedge funds, private capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and pension funds, among others.
The Sales and Relationship Management team has two principle objectives which are (i) to protect and retain the existing client revenue streams, and (ii) to grow these revenue streams through the cross selling of new products. The Client Services team oversees service delivery with an overall responsibility to ensure an optimised client experience for each client and to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.

MFS provide a range of solutions to support our clients including securities Lending with both Agency Lending and Principal Lending desks. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with busy trading teams and learn about a wide variety of products and services, including securities Lending programmes, financing, collateral management, and corporate actions. The trainee will experience a dynamic and stimulating trading environment yet one with small teams able to coach, nurture and develop talent. They will have exposure to a broad range of clients and counterparts from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. Financial Intermediaries and Corporates Client Line (FI&C)
FI&C is a product focused department of Securities Services that is responsible for the successful development and maintenance of a number of products and solutions that are integral to the services we bring to the diverse types of clients we support. The team is also responsible for monitoring the profitability of these products and proposing actions to improve this as part of our service evolution.
In addition to this, FI&C is focused on the overall range of services we bring to our bank, broker, wealth manager and corporate client base.
