The position at
a glance
Data Analytics, Governance & GBA Digital Strategy is part of the CIB Americas Transversal COO office and is a newly formed team supporting the business and client analytic needs of CIB Global Banking and Global Markets Americas Senior Management, Coverage and Business Lines, ensuring the continued maturity of our data governance and management, as well as spearheading the digital transformation strategy for Global Banking. The team is responsible for identifying the analytical and tooling needs to support the growth and efficiency objectives of the front office and their corporate and institutional clients, building tools that provide accurate, actionable and meaningful business insights through easy-to-use self-serve technologies.
In detail
The candidate filling this position will be responsible supporting the design and preparation of client and product analytics dashboards and ensuring the integrity, consistency, usefulness, quality and speed of the analysis and dashboards to be prepared leveraging sustainable automation techniques. This includes, all performance metrics and analysis for various units within GBA, GMA & Coverage and regional client consolidation. Data included in the dashboards:
- Revenues / Profitability (monthly)
- Deposits (monthly)
- Significant deals booked (monthly)
- Geographic split (monthly)
- Risk Returns (quarterly)
- Client Relationship Management - pipeline & interactions (weekly)
- Competitive benchmarking - (Dealogic - monthly, Coalition - semi-annually)
- Reporting & Analysis
- Work with Client Analytics data scientist to understand the reporting needs and the data required to satisfy the report requirements
- Understand the people, process, and technology behind the data required for reporting in order to make clear decisions on the appropriate data sourcing and collection strategy
- Conduct analysis of the data and ensure required attributes and keys are present to support the required manipulation and dimensioning of the data
- Leverage tools such as Alteryx and Python to automate the processing and normalization of data
- Ensure development processes are documented centrally via tools such as Sharepoint & Confluence
- Ensure appropriate permissions are in place so that data is shared on a need to know basis
- Document end to end workflows and evaluate processes contributing to key data being used
- Provide analysis and reports by performing data extraction, manipulation, and designing of visualizations
- Use tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to develop interactive, actionable visualized dashboards
- Perform maintenance and support enhancement requests of developed reports as needed and prioritized
- Show initiative in suggesting improvements on reports
- Provide support and end user training as required
- Relationship Management with other departments
- Develop partnerships and maintain strong relationships with the following Americas teams as well as develop global relationships across our ecosystem:
- GB / GM Business Management
- CIB Corporate / Institutional Client Development
- Product Lines / Coverage Staff
- Global Client Reporting, Analytics Consulting and the Data Hubs
- Transversal Support Teams
- Other Tasks
- Continued investigation and research on alternative solutions and technologies to support the platforms
- Develop relationship with other COO teams to understand their business, underlying reporting needs and act as a value-added partner

In addition to the skill-set and background normally required for an intern in the Bank, the following represent requirements specifically desired for the position:
Educational Background:
- Undergraduate and or Masters degree ongoing
Working Experience:
- Banking or Finance industry experience a plus
Essential Experience
- Strong data science and technical background
- Solid knowledge of Tableau software, additional dashboarding experience is required (Power BI, etc)
- Knowledge of data processing languages (such as Python or R) and knowledge of additional programming languages is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and supporting tools (SQL Developer, etc)
- Familiarity with data warehouses, database technologies, and concepts is a plus
- Familiarity with data transfer mechanisms between systems (API’s, XML’s, etc) is a plus
- Experience working in a multi-cultural team and with internal clients
- Very strong communication & presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Advanced analytical skills (business and data) with understanding of how to manipulate and transform data to produce valuable and relevant information for the business
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
- Project management experience is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of MS office suite; VBA macros are strong advantage
- CIB products / processes / systems business knowledge is a plus
