Business area

Securities Services is a leading global custodian and securities services specialist that provides multi-asset post-trade and asset servicing solutions for buy and sell-side market participants, corporates and issuers.

CIB 2S UK IT & Engineering department provides IT services for CIB2S business lines in the UK, and CIB2S Fund services locations globally where UK managed applications are deployed.

This role sits within the Loan Solutions team, which is part of our Client Delivery UK IT & Engineering department. The team covers the design and implementation of solutions across all local products and services bought or booked in the UK and ME regions. 

The objective of the department is to create an environment that thrives to transform our business, excelling in high class solution design capabilities, with strong professional framework to support change in coordination with our product, operational stakeholders, and clients.

The objective of the team include: 

•    Support loan solutions by developing and maintaining analytical tools and reporting for structured finance transactions and loan fund portfolios.

•    Ensuring business objectives for loan Solutions are achieved through the development of operating model and technologies.

Representing both the business and the technology capability for loan solutions globally facing off internal stakeholders local and offshore) and external stakeholders (clients, prospects, vendors/suppliers, industry groups, media).

Job purpose 

The main purpose of the Loan Solutions Business Analyst role is to:

•    Support Loan Solutions globally by assisting in developing and maintaining analytical tools and reporting for structured finance transactions and loan fund portfolios.

•    Carries out a variety entry-level data analysis to support decision-making/ projects/ RFPs/ market analysis as requested per senior members of the team.

Key responsibilities

Product Development

•    Participates in regression testing for Sentry upgrades.

Reporting

•    Configures simple Sentry datacubes, including basic SQL scripts, for efficient data extraction.

•    Assists in designing efficient Power BI dashboards and SAP Crystal Reports templates that accurately meet the business requirements.

•    Parametrises workflows meticulously to deliver reports.

Junior System Analyst

•    Carries insightful analysis of Sentry data for generic topics.

•    Uses most common Sentry menus to carry out data-related investigations.

•    Develops an actionable knowledge of one Sentry feed and its associated business rules.

•    Develops an actionable knowledge of most common loan asset types and loan portfolio metrics. 

Requirements

Essential 

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in quantitative field such as data science.

•    Excellent data analysis skills including advanced level with Excel formulas.

•    Some knowledge or understanding of fixed income products, especially loans.

•    Shows structured approach to analysing complex documentation.

Preferred 

•    Experience with BI tools such as Power BI (non-professional accepted).

•    Experience with a programming language such as Python (non-professional accepted).

•    Experience with a database query language such as MySQL (non-professional accepted).
