About the job

  • The Settlement Claims Officer mission is to ensure the integrity and the exhaustiveness of detection, payment and receipt of interest that are a result of late settlements under BNP Paribas Arbitrage and BNP Paribas SA. The scope of the products are: Forex and Money Market, Equities and Bonds as well as Equity Derivatives

Your Main Activities Are

  • Daily integration, verification and detection of claims folders opened after late settlement
  • Booking of claims received and paid from and to external counterparties in the appropriate database and perform the first level control of the claims legitimacy
  • Send claim letter for further receive to the counterpart within 60 days and properly chase for its payment
  • Permanent interaction with Back Offices and Counterparties for claim status progression, taking action to close folders in the best timing, followed by databases constant update
  • Swift payment generation and cash breaks follow up
  • Impact the interest claims on the trading portfolio
  • Proposition of new developments or improvement in the existing chain in order to secure the processes and reduce the operational risk
  • Formalization of team procedures and operating guides

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance and/or Accounting
  • Up to 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance
  • Proficient in MS Office Pack Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written
  • Teamwork and ability to collaborate
  • Client focused
  • Proactive
