Position Purpose

Operations Division is looking for a Functional Tester (Manual + Automation Testing) to join the team in Chennai and will be reporting to the Test Lead. This role provides an opportunity to work across wide range of projects in the division.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

The candidate will work within our division. 

·       Understanding of structured test methods and processes

·       Attend Requirements walkthrough and raise clarifications.

·       Preparation of Test Plan, Test cases & test data creation

·       Test delivery (Functional test, System integration tests, API tests, Regression tests, End to End tests etc...)

·       Preparation of Test Completion report and provide metrics.

·       UAT tests support process

·       Raise the risks to Domain test lead on time along with mitigation plans.

·       Follow Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) & testing processes.

·       Experience in ETL testing, DB testing & strong in writing SQL queries. 

Contributing Responsibilities

·       Coordinating various upstream or downstream application teams requesting test data and support while execution of test cases

·       Comply with regulatory requirements, internal guidelines, and policies.

·       Complete the assigned trainings on time.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Functional

·       Very strong in Manual Functional testing with various techniques

·       Integration testing with Stubs and Drivers

·       API testing

·       System Integration testing

·       Batch jobs testing

·       End to End testing

·       Core Banking is mandatory and experience in Wealth Management is a plus

·       Experience with Business process Management, Document management is a plus

·       Able to identify necessary test data before starting the test case execution

Automation

Hands-on experience of usage of Selenium/UFT and CI/CD tools to execute automated regression. (Not necessary to have code development)

Performance

Experienced with performance testing fundamentals and concepts

Hands-on experience with performance test tools, such as Jmeter, is a plus

Middleware

Knowledgeable of MQ, CFT, Batch processing, REST APIs

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·       Hands on experience on using Unix/Linux and Windows basic commands

·       Hands on experience of developing DB SQL Scripts

·       Coordination with various teams on testing activities (understanding application/domain/requirements, test cases writing, execution and defects).

·       Communication skills:

o   Good oral & written skills.

o   Report promptly (oral and written).

·       Reporting to test lead on the test activities progress and data gathering to generate metrics.

·       A good team player with problem-solving attitude.

·       Analytical and precise: Capacity to challenge the team and convince based on facts.

·       Multi-tasking: ability to accommodate more than one testing at a time for concurrent projects testing.

Testing Tools

Mandatory to have experience in following tools

·       ALM Quality center\Octane

·       JIRA

·       Oracle SQL developer\SQL work bench

·       Postman for REST API or any other equivalent tool

Nice to have 

·       Selenium or any Test NG framework-based automation tools

·       JMeter for executing Load tests

Domain Knowledge

Mandatory to have Core banking & Capital markets experience. 

Wealth management/Corporate actions/Derivatives/SWIFT Messages/FX/Loans and Deposits specific area would be nice to have.

SDLC methodologies

Testing experience with Agile and Waterfall methodology is mandatory requirements. 

Testing with Agile scrum practice will be plus
