Position Purpose:
The Business Analyst plays a critical role in insurance transformation programs, primarily focused on protection insurance. Acting as a functional bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, this role ensures that business requirements are clearly defined, structured, and aligned with the EIKO platform’s standard capabilities.
The Business Analyst captures, analyzes, and formalizes business needs while collaborating with Solution Architects (who own solution design) and Tech Leads (who handle technical implementation). The goal is to deliver high-quality, compliant, and business-aligned solutions that meet strategic objectives.
Key Focus Areas:
✔ Business Requirements – Structuring needs across policy, claims, billing, and distribution.
✔ Gap Analysis – Balancing global EIKO-platform standards with local business requirements.
✔ Agile Collaboration – Supporting Product Owners and development teams in sprint execution.
✔ Documentation & Testing – Ensuring traceability and functional validation.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
1. Business Requirements & Analysis
- Elicit and document business requirements through workshops, interviews, and process reviews with stakeholders (underwriting, claims, billing, distribution).
- Structure requirements into epics, features, and user stories (JIRA/Confluence) with clear acceptance criteria.
- Validate completeness and consistency of requirements, ensuring they are unambiguous and testable.
- Prioritize backlog items in collaboration with Product Owners, using techniques like MoSCoW or RICE scoring.
- Challenge business needs to identify true value vs. "nice-to-have" features.
- Tools & Methods:
- Workshops (e.g., story mapping, process modeling).
- Documentation (Confluence, Word, Excel).
- Prioritization Frameworks (MoSCoW, RICE, WSJF).
2. Gap Analysis & Solution Alignment
- Conduct detailed gap analysis between business needs and EIKO standard capabilities, identifying:
- Functional gaps (e.g., local underwriting rules vs. global standards).
- Process gaps (e.g., workflow deviations).
- Document "Adopt vs. Adapt" recommendations with cost-benefit analysis (effort vs. business value).
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to:
- Assess technical feasibility of customizations.
- Propose alternative solutions if requirements deviate from EIKO standards.
- Escalate critical gaps to governance bodies for decision-making.
- Deliverables:
- Gap Analysis Reports (with scoring matrices).
- Impact Assessments (business, technical, operational).
- Decision Papers for governance review.
3. Functional Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies:
- Refinement – Clarify user stories with Dev/Test teams.
- Sprint Planning – Assist in effort estimation.
- Demos – Validate deliverables against business expectations.
- Retrospectives – Provide functional feedback.
- Support development teams during:
- Design (review wireframes, business rules).
- Build (clarify functional queries).
- Test (prepare UAT test cases).
- Act as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for insurance processes (policy, claims, billing).
- Facilitate conflict resolution between business and technical constraints.
4. Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Produce high-quality functional specifications:
- Process flows (BPMN, UML).
- User stories (with acceptance criteria).
- Business rules documentation.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements to delivery (using DOORS, Xray, or JIRA).
- Contribute to testing:
- Define UAT test scenarios.
- Support business users during test execution.
- Triage defects and validate fixes.
5. Business Analyst Training Path to be completed:
- Complete EIS University learning paths for business analyst
- Maintain relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, SAFe Product Owner).
- Stay updated on:
- Insurance regulations (Solvency II, GDPR).
- Industry trends (InsurTech, digital underwriting).
- Share knowledge through communities of practice (e.g., BA guilds).
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Specific Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, with a focus on:
- Insurance transformation programs (protection, P&C, health).
- Core system implementations (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Salesforce or similar).
Proven track record in:
- Requirements elicitation & management.
- Gap analysis for standardized platforms.
- Agile/SAFe delivery models.

· Language Skills: Multilingual if possible (B2-C1 written and spoken English mandatory, Spanish and French a plus).
