The position at a glance

The Global Markets Application Production Support (APS) group provides technical and functional support directly to the Front, Middle and Back Office in the Americas region and delivers solutions providing discreet functionality to the users. The supported systems are used globally with major server hubs in London, Paris, NY, Tokyo and Singapore. APS teams are Continuous Improvement oriented. They contribute and lead the projects in both categories as ‘Run the Bank & ‘Change the Bank’.

The position is application production support senior personnel and reports to head of Global Markets APS Transversal.

In detail

Production Support

  • Act as first line of contact for production environment and provide Level1 & Level2 functional and technical support.
  • Coordinate with Level3, DEV and Infra teams about new and recurring production issues and do and help in root cause analysis and timely resolution.
  • Pro-actively monitor, manage, and improve availability and performance of the production environments and application layers to middleware and databases.
  • Monitor application components, data flows and act proactively to prevent data and performance issues and application crash.
  • Ensures issues and incidents are logged in the incident management system on time, with accuracy and followed up on until resolved and documented.
  • Liaise and communicate with upstream / downstream applications support teams for timely data flow and resolving any open issues.
  • Maintain and create procedure and process documentations.
  • Contribute and lead problem management of long pending and recurring issues.

Release, Maintenance and Project: 

  • Participate in the change release cycles for the validation on the staging, pre-production, and production environments.
  • Deployment of the changes in production, post release checks, follow-up teams for communication and completion of all the evidence.
  • Liaises with the development teams to ensure enhancements and fixes are prioritized.
  • Contribute and lead the DRP, BCP, Cyber and various departmental level exercises.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure teams for patching, upgrades of the servers to ensure the applications are stable & available post patches and infra changes.
  • Contribute and lead the projects related with updates, upgrades, obsolescence, and vulnerabilities. 
  • Making sure the software and hardware updates and upgrades are completing on time and coordinated well with various related teams.
  • Contribute and lead on DevOps and various technological enhancement projects.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the field
  • Minimum Bachelor
  • Advance knowledge and experience on systems like UNIX and Linux.
  • Advance knowledge and  experience on databases like Oracle and SQL.
  • Advance knowledge and experience of file transfer protocols like CFT, FTP & SFTP.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience of tools like Dynatrace, Autosys, Jenkins, Grafana and ready to learn quickly.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience of databases like ElasticSearch and Postgres.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience on systems like Windows.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in scripting Python, Perl, and PowerShell.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience of Ansible and ready to learn quickly.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience of Server Administrator Apache, Tomcat and nginx and ready to learn quickly.
  • Beginner knowledge of GIT and BitBucket and ready to learn quickly.
  • Beginner knowledge of Load Balancer like AVI and F% and ready to learn quickly.

  • Autonomous, self-motivated, and self-driven to achieve higher results.
  • Able to confidently engage with diverse stakeholders on different topics.
  • Over the time proactively engage with business stakeholders to understand the VoC and absorb feedback in constructive manner.
  • Openness to accept the new problems and issues and look for innovative solutions. 
  • Maintain calmness even under the stressful situation and knows the prioritization.
  • Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.

  • Flexible in working on public holidays and weekend support.
  • Flexible in working in different shifts.
  • Flexible in working as part of Follow-the-Sun across three global regions.
