To support its current growth, BNP Paribas Securities Services is looking for a:

An internship agreement covering the whole duration of the internship, signed by the school, the student and the company is MANDATORY.

CONTEXT AND STAKES

The Fund Administration has always been and will remain a key pillar of the Fund industry. It is fully integrated with multiple counterparties (inside and outside the bank): Transfer Agent, Depot bank, Custodian, Management Companies, Brokers, and Auditors… 

BNP Paribas Securities Services Luxembourg is positioned at the heart of the Luxembourg Fund Industry: Possibility to grow knowledge on all activities related: Custody, Fund Services (TA, FA, FDS.. )

 YOUR MISSION ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS? 

Your missions will be mainly focused around the support on the Fund Administration daily managerial coordination process, and in particular: 

  • Assisting in the preparation & conception of management Support, such as dashboard, Process modelling, KPI, … 
  • Engaging in different transversal projects 
  • Support business trips for a BNP collaborator and prepare a high-level overview of the fund administration for them. 
  • Project selection will be done in close cooperation with your manager and will depend on your skills and areas of competence. 
  • Assist with data entry and data analysis of various reports related to the department's operations and performance. 
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of databases. 
  • Help in organizing and maintaining departmental files and records. 
  • Creating internal supports to help the department to improve its communication among the staff, including maintaining “who’s who” documentation within the FA Department. 
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for the department's management team. 
  • Provide general administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, booking conference rooms, and preparing meeting materials. 
  • Conduct research on industry trends and best practices related to the department's operations. 
  • Assist in monitoring and managing the department's budget and expenses. 
  • Collaborate with other departments within the bank to gather information and data required for various reports and projects. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Help in drafting and editing departmental communication materials, such as quarterly All Staff Communication and emails. 
  • Build and run a communication campaign for event, team building… 
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects assigned by the management team. 
  • Creation and continuous updating of supports for new joiners within the department. 
  • Maintain a permanent contact with the group managers to ensure a good follow-up of projects 
  • Gather and analyze feedback on meeting, event …

Based on your personal interest and underlying projects, it might allow to participate in the daily Fund Accounting, Oversight, Financial Reporting, Client Account Management, Corporate Investment Compliance production process, understanding different mechanisms, risks, and challenges, where applicable. 

The candidate may enter in contact with other service of the bank in the context of the standard global operating model.

Your work environment

  • The job is located on site; in the eKinox building, located 60, avenue J.F. Kennedy L-1855 LUXEMBOURG
  • The FA Luxembourg department is composed of around 150 people, separated in teams of accounting, control, analysts, and client relations. The candidate would be assisting the management team for this department. 
  • Outside of FA Luxembourg, the candidate could be in contact with the Global FA team, as well as local HR and finance. Depending on their assignations, the candidate might be in contact with product and IT teams, other FA locations, as well as client lines, transfer agents, etc… 
  • The job is not eligible to remote working (télétravail), or to access to satellite offices. 
  • No movements outside of the office to be foreseen. 
  • Possibility to transform the internship to a work-study/apprenticeship position (alternance), depending on the conditions.

Working in the Fund Administration is a unique opportunity to learn on different domains and develop a career: 

  • Capital Market: Understanding financial Products such as Equity, Bond, Listed Derivative, OTC Derivatives in a large range/type of Funds (UCITS, Hedge funds, Alternatives and RAIF funds…). 
  • Funds Accounting: Developing various accounting aspects, being expert in management techniques (Pooling, Master-feeder…), using referenced FA systems (Multifond Calculo,), and applying innovative processes (performance fee, Hedging, Swing price.). 
  • Working in team: Managing multiple interactions with clients and their providers (International Operating Centers, brokers, Custodians, … ) and auditors.
  • Support transformation required for continuous improvement.

ARE YOU OUR FUTURE INTERN?

Professional experience and diploma

Requires a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in progress, in either management or finance. 
 A previous experience would be appreciated but is not necessary.

Technical skills

Basic MS Office knowledge is mandatory (Excel, PowerPoint, etc…). 

Any other technical skills is a plus (VBA, python, PowerBI, etc…).

Candidate should be broadly familiar with funds and financial concepts such as ForeX, market volatility, derivatives and such. Any certification such as BMC or AMF are a plus but are not mandatory.

Languages

The use of French & English is mandatory (B2), especially written. 
 Knowledge of French, German or Italian are a plus, but is not mandatory.
