Position Purpose
Provide a brief description of the overall purpose of the position, why this position exists and how it will contribute in achieving the team’s goal.
The Test Analyst is responsible of assessing the quality of a set of functional modules. As a quality Gatekeeper for each quality gate the software under test goes through, he/she is in charge of analyzing the business processes and requirements gathered by the business analyst, deriving test cases from them, preparing test plans, executing tests, declaring defects and reporting on test progress and results to meet client quality objectives.
Test analyst should have a good knowledge of the testing market best practices and processes. He/she can acquire quickly the functional knowledge required to assess efficiently the quality of his modules.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
· Requirements analysis
o Review User stories acceptance criteria
o Analyse business processes and rules
o Define test coverage
· Test preparation
o Estimate and plan tests
o Manage quality risks and define mitigation actions
o Define test plans
o Define and prepare test data
o Define and prepare test environments and interfaces
· Test cases writing and execution
o Write/update test cases for each test level
o Validate prerequisites for test execution before starting
o Execute tests
o Analyse the outcomes of the executed tests to check compliance with requirements (expected / observed)
o Record the proof of tests
o Qualify and declare defects in the appropriate tools, after performing level 1 analysis
· UAT support
o Review UAT test cases description and coverage
o Qualify defects detected by end users
o Declare UAT defects in test tools
o Report on UAT progress and results
· Non-regression test coordination
o Select non-regression tests of his/her modules
o Monitor NRT automation
o Monitor NRT execution
· Test reporting
o Report on test preparation progress
o Report on test execution progress, results and remaining workload/ planning
o Raise alert and propose solutions
