Business Area/Dept Overview

The RISK department aims at being a partner of the businesses by contributing to their sustainable development, but also a gatekeeper to ensure risks taken remain compatible with the Group’s Risk Appetite and its strategy. RISK teams engage in an upstream dialogue with the business to better understand their strategy, objectives, deal and then RISK expresses its opinion and recommendations. The RISK function is independent, reporting directly to the CEO and Group Board.


Our risk management function (“RISK”) is recognised in the industry as being first tier.  


Our main missions are to:
• Advise the Bank on risk appetite definition; credit risk, counterparty risk, market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, cyber risk and other potential risks.
• Contribute as an objective “second pair of eyes” that risks taken on by the Bank align with its policies through analysis, valuation and documentation.
• Report and alert bank management of the status of risks to which the bank is exposed.

Purpose & Scope of role

• Purpose: Analysis and monitoring of market risks

• Scope: XVA trading desk

 

Key Responsibilities of role

The responsibilities of the Senior XVA Risk Analyst are:
• Analysis & monitoring of market and counterparty risks of xVAs. In particular:
o Analyse, explain xVA (CVA,FVA,DVA,Colva) variations and adjust P&L if necessary
o Monitoring and analysis of market risk of XVA hedging portfolios
o Review certain trades in the context of the Risk Mitigating status of the XVA desk

• Regular review of the risk management framework, such as reviewing and/or setting up new limit, developing new reserve or Prudent Value methodologies.

• Following regulatory developments and the impact on the xVA perimeter. This includes involvement in quantitative impact studies for FRTB.

• Lead of the XVA team for daily tasks, ensure juniors integration and skills developments

The Senior XVA risk Analyst will interact with Traders and Sales teams, Risk teams (Transactions Securitisation and Frameworks, Risk Corporates, Risk Institutionals, Market Risk, Risk methodologies) as well as IT teams, Front-Office Risk teams such as TRS Team (Trading and Risk Strategy).


Experience, Qualifications & Competencies


Essential
• Proven computational skills required (R/Python, Excel, Access, VBA)
• The candidate should have a solid quantitative background with a previous experience in a quantitative environment through a technical role (e.g. through market risk, counterparty risk).
• Excellent knowledge of derivatives, ideally across multiple asset classes.
• Ability to react quickly but precisely in high pressure trading situations with Front Office interactions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to further build the business / risk relationship and to clearly and concisely report the risk in a jargon-free way. 
• Ability to work in a team and interact with multiple stakeholders of different technical backgrounds
• The candidate should be able to efficiently prioritise work and show resourcefulness in order to meet deadlines, whilst having the ability to react to changing priorities as markets move.
