The position at
a glance
IT Production is a transversal function which provides all core technologies, production security and applications support to all businesses of the bank in the Americas. The CTO Office covers transversal topics for the department, including governance, budget, staff management, and project management. The CTO Office intern will learn about activities part of the CTO Office remit, including budget and resource monitoring, how the IT budget is built and reported, governance processes, and other IT Production internal operations and improvements efforts.
In detail
The CTO Office intern will participant in ongoing initiatives and exercises in the CTO office. This will include contribution to topics such as:
- Preparation of deliverables for the annual IT budget exercise, collection and analysis of budget contributions, check and challenge, and data quality checks.
- Implementation of reporting and reconciliation processes related to budget, cost allocation, and resource management.
- Enforcing data quality standards for IT costs, time-tracking, and internal budget-related tools.
- Internal IT Production improvement efforts, such as standardizing information and processes for upskilling/training, SharePoint organization, DEI initiatives, etc.
- Contribution to other ongoing budget and resource strategic projects, CTO Office initiatives, and IT Production topics.
The strengths
and skills that will help you succeed
- Applicant should be in progress of obtaining a Bachelor's degree or foreign education equivalent in economics, finance, accounting, or business management. Students studying information technology or engineering who are interested in finance/business management are also encouraged to apply.
- Applicant should have some familiarity with banking operations/financial services and familiarity with general IT and infrastructure processes. Strong technical skills are not required but a capacity to understand the different technologies involved is helpful.
- Applicant must have strong verbal & written communication skills and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to collaborate with different teams/departments and across office locations/time zones is required.
- Strong skills in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excel strong skills are required (pivot tables, use of formulas). Macro VBA or other automation skills are a plus.
- Able to work well under pressure and within short time constraints.
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both
internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific
language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required
