Position: Collection Officer
Type of contract: Permanent
Type of working: Hybrid (3 days in the office/2 days from home)
Based in: Bucharest, Romania – Oregon Park
Role Purpose
Ensuring the recovery of outstanding receivables by contacting debtors, negotiating payment solutions, and monitoring compliance with agreed payment commitments.
Responsibilities
- Contacting customers with outstanding debts by phone and/or in writing.
- Handling inbound and outbound calls related to the debt recovery department through the call center system.
- Negotiating payment deadlines and repayment methods.
- Monitoring the fulfillment of payment commitments.
- Tracking payments made by customers or third parties and documenting them, where applicable.
- Preparing rescheduling files, including drafting rescheduling requests.
- Completing and processing payment instruments (promissory notes/cheques).
- Continuously updating the database with newly obtained information.
- Archiving all documents and correspondence received or issued.
- Collaborating with other departments and responding to their requests in a timely manner.
- Complying with internal procedures and applicable legislation.
Requirements
- Education: University degree in Economics or Law.
- Previous experience in debt collection/call center: minimum 3 years.
- English language: written, spoken and comprehension.
- Software knowledge: MS Office.
- Driving license – category B.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and strong results orientation.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
