What is this position about?

•    FIC Korea coverage team is seeking to hire an Analyst position to join the team. 

•    Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) Analyst is a junior level position responsible for assisting Senior Bankers and the coverage team to identify and match the various client needs of financial institutions with those products & investment solutions of BNP Paribas.

What would your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like? 

•    As the junior member of FIC Korea team, the main purpose is to undertake the various roles required in supporting the FIC Senior Bankers in their respective coverage role of Financial Institutions to achieve the given mandate and mission.

Primary Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will

•    Contribute and participate, as the junior member, in the development and pursuit of the FIC Korea department’s strategy and role of identifying and matching the various client needs of financial institutions with those products & investment solutions of BNP Paribas.

•    Support the general administrative duties associated with FIC including annual reviews, reporting, transaction documents negotiation, client relationship management tools, updated record of deal pipeline and booked deals including validation by the business lines of the level of contribution.

•    Actively maintain and develop an internal network amongst product partners within the BNP Paribas Group. Work in partnership with business lines to identify problems and design the best solutions for clients.

•    Actively maintain and develop a broad and detailed knowledge in respect of financial products, processes, and market awareness applicable to Financial Institutions.

•    Join client meetings as and when required to originate deals across multiple products and geographies as well as providing leads for product & business lines. 

•    Support preparation of Call Memos and Call Reports post client meetings and preparing Briefing Memos prior to meeting clients.

•    Collecting data for Client Action Plans, Client Pitches, and any other marketing presentations.

•    Lead in preparing presentations for Credit Committees, including gathering and analyzing annual reports and other data to help support credit decisions.

•    Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, offered products, relevant laws, and regulations. 

Other contributions

•    Proactively ensure the proper maintenance and monitoring of all internal client relationship related matters, including Know-Your-Clients (KYCs) and other internal compliance policies as well as responsibly handling any outstanding issues and tasks.  

•    Update the Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools – Call reports post client meetings, regular topic updates, and details of business opportunities.

•    Quickly grasp context and demonstrate strong communication skills in reporting, handling client inquiries, working with internal stakeholders. 

•    Work in a highly organized manner, prioritize, and quickly switch between tasks when required.

•    Able to work under pressure without compromising quality.

•    Willingness to work long hours as and when required to meet deadlines.

•    Capacity to understand financial and legal documents in both English and Korean.

•    Translate freely from English to Korean and vice versa.

•    Draft high quality Power Point presentation material, Word, and Excel reports

Required education/certification/licenses

•    Must be proficient to native fluency in both English and Korean (i.e. speaking & writing).

•    Seeking an applicant with no previous working experience (i.e. fresh or to-be graduate) up to five years of work experience. 

•    Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a full-time, four-year University.  

•    Proven background knowledge and previous studies related to Finance, Financial Industry and Business Administrations along with any certificates or licenses related to finance are a plus.
