About Business line/Function:

Global Markets Operations Corporate Actions, Incomes and Taxes Department is part of the transversal functions within ITO and is acting as a central interlocutor regarding Corporate Actions, both for Fixed Income and EQD Solutions.

EQD is a dedicated Business Line for Equity Derivatives and Financing Solutions within BNP PARIBAS Group and a major player within CIB.

Fixed Income is specialized in G10et Credit repo financing transactions on debts and bonds assets.

Within Global Markets Operations pole, the Corporate Actions Department is specialized in the analysis and the management of the corporate events affecting listed assets (mainly securities products). 

It is in charge of the notification and the coordination for the EQD and Fixed Income industries of any impact of these events during the overall lifecycle. In this way, the Department is providing its services for any impacted trade involving Trading, Clients and/or Counterparties.

Position Purpose

Incomes and taxes department is specialized in analyzing and operating, in books and records, Incomes (as Dividends or Fixed and Determinable Payments) impacts surrounding business or client’s balances. 

Officer is aimed to capture events; setup related tracking files; determine the economic structure of eligible positions (Buy/sell, Stock Loans, Repos), coordinate impacts across the different business lines and products affected; and ensure reconciliations across key dates until payments/receipts reconciled for accounting purpose.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

-          Follow-up and notification of information and events’ terms to business lines or external parties.

-          Ensure the transmission of voluntary elections and options across trading and custodians.

-          Ensure accuracy of treatment and bookings for events’ operations within the booking and accounting systems.

-          Follow and resolve any outstanding items in a timely manner with relevant escalation procedure applicable and compliance duties.

-          Process incomes and stocks payments and claims for receivables toward any external parties in alignment with group guidelines policies for any wire forms.

-          Ensure the right fiscal model is applied along the different records and until finance. 

-          Produce reporting and provide evidence toward fiscal authorities in respect of withholding taxes applied on proceeds.

Contributing Responsibilities

·        Follow and capture events announcements across all markets.

·        Analyze terms and transmit summary notifications to trading or clients.

·        Keep on enriching relations with the business lines representative and network agents. 

·        Respect any timeline and deadline cut-offs 

·        Control books and records at the different stages of events and until paydate.

·        Follow and report any outstanding items (deposit breaks or cash breaks) 

·        Keep on documenting all procedures in place to stick market and process evolutions.

·        Contribute in all control plan protocols according local operational risk policies.

·        Contribute in precision and accuracy of activity metrics and escalate any relevant problems or success to management on a continuous basis.
