The Collateral Management IT function delivers the technology backbone that enables BNP Paribas Global Markets to manage, optimize and report on collateral across all trading activities. 

Position Purpose: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Business Analyst, Collateral Management is responsible for driving functional analysis, solution design, and delivery of strategic and regulatory initiatives across the collateral management platform. The role acts as a key interface between stakeholders, operations and technology teams to translate complex collateral requirements into scalable and efficient solutions.

Operating within a global environment, this role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders across regions. The role demands strong stakeholder management, the ability to challenge and influence decisions and ownership of end-to-end functional outcomes while ensuring high quality delivery within agreed timelines.  

 Direct Responsibilities

1. Initial Analysis
      a) Feasibility Studies
      b) Initial estimations
      c) Providing proposals, High level Solutions
      d) Working with project managers to identify target delivery dates
 
 

2. Implementation/Post Live Support

     a) Provide support for new/changed functionality where required

     b) Producing release notes, user guides/documentation, arranging functional Demo’s/Trainings
 
 


 3. Testing

a)    Produce and execute Functional Test Packs – or provide guidance where required to testing team.

b)    Regression Test Pack assessment

c)     Organize and manage end user testing where required.

d)    Escalation of environmental issues preventing progress.
 
 

4. Functional Design and Documentation

     a) Obtaining/clarifying/elaborating business requirements.

     b) Functional solution design and documentation

     c) Re-estimation throughout project lifecycle when required.

5. Provide 3rd level support in line with defined Group processes.

Contributing Responsibilities

  •      Have a good understanding of the data flows and understand its lifecycle of source to destination.
  •         Identify risk in process and propose / implement controls
  •      Provide functional expertise and guidance to junior team members and team members.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  •         Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA or similar tracking systems.
  •         Understanding of financial products (e.g. OTC derivatives, securities lending)        
  •         Be able to demonstrate an understanding of how business processes have been implemented and how data flows through those processes.
  • Ability to be able to represent a data flow and system process into a Visio diagram for presentation purposes to stakeholders.
  •       Ability to work with technology to assist with analysis eg SQL.
  •       A good knowledge of Excel, MS word, Visio, PowerPoint is required.
  •       Excellent communication skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability and openness to change especially in transformation and fast paced projects.
  •  Being able to work under pressure, in a challenging environment, and to deal with confrontational situations. 

Specific Qualifications:

At least 10 years of IT experience in investment banking domain.

Technical Skills:

  •        Data Analysis – Excel, SQL & data querying.
  •        A good knowledge of Excel, Visio, PowerPoint is required.

Education Level

  • B. Tech/ B.E or MBA(Finance)
