The bank for a changing world

BNP Paribas skillfully handled the first week following the changeover to euros.

The Bank received no reports of incidents concerning customer payments using bank cards. Ninety-nine percent of the ATM fleet was converted to euros as early as 1 January and the machines have been operating correctly. In contrast to payments in stores using bank cards, the number of cash withdrawals has tended to decrease.

To date, more than EUR 2 billion has been taken in and canceled by perforation. Crowds in branches have been large.
BNP Paribas branches have been satisfying customer demand under the best possible conditions thanks to the nearly 3,000 temporary employees and 5,000 euro angels who have been brought in for support.

In light of the high degree of mobilization by BNP Paribas branch staff, most observers consider BNP Paribas to be the benchmark for the changeover to euros.
