Published On 27.05.2025

The #Unexpected People podcast gives a voice to those taking action unexpectedly thanks to the support of BNP Paribas. In this third episode, we focus on sport with the testimonies of Elodie and Nicolas, both participants in the We Are Tennis Cup.

Episode 3: Getting involved through sport

For over 50 years, BNP Paribas has supported tennis, sharing its values of fair play, commitment and performance as a long-standing partner of major tournaments such as Roland-Garros in Paris or the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. The Group has established the We Are Tennis Cup (WAT Cup), a tournament open to all employees from around the world. It is accessible regardless of their level, allowing them to play in a mixed team against colleagues of an equivalent standard and takes place on the legendary clay courts of Roland-Garros. It is the largest inhouse competition run by a company with more than 3,000 participants in 2025 and 33 countries represented. It is this passion for sport combined with a taste for discovery and sharing that first appealed to Elodie Mattio, Head of AML/KYC within Global General Partner at BNP Paribas Wealth Management Luxembourg, and Nicolas Weitkiewic, Head of Operational Transformation at BNP Paribas Cardif Brazil.
