The bank for a changing world

The French economic and financial newspaper L'Agefi has published its M&A league tables for the first half of 2002.

Although American banks (Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan Chase) took the top three slots, French banks held firm, just behind their American counterparts, in a difficult market.

BNP Paribas ranked fourth, ahead of Merrill Lynch, with 19 operations worth a total of EUR 12,123 million.
