The BNP Paribas Foundation and ADIE inaugurate a new office dedicated to microcredit in France
24.04.2008 | Careers, Corporate philanthropy
On April 21, within the BNP Paribas Foundation's Projet Banlieues initiative, ADIE (an association that grants small loans to start-up businesses that have no access to traditional bank credits), opened a new mircrocredit office in Asnières-sur-Seine, in the Parisian suburbs. ADIE hopes that its presence will help to stimulate the job market in the Hauts-de-Seine department. This is the latest opening that BNP Paribas and ADIE have done together, as they previously opened offices in 6 other French towns.
BNP Paribas began the Projet Banlieues in 2006 as a three-year initiative (totalling 3 million euros in funding) to help create employment, support social associations and provide tutoring for children in low income neighbourhoods.
