  • As part of Wealth Management (WM) within Investment & Protection Services (IPS), Credit Officers oversee credit operations of all Wealth Management clients
  • In this scope, Credit Officers are responsible for the implementation of credit minutes, validation of cashouts, validation of short term loans, shortfalls and irregulars monitoring, and structured products analysis

Your Main Activities Are

  • Input in the system new resolutions of Credit committees, it can be new credit lines, renewals, cancellations Derivatives monitoring
  • Provide different reports according to the demands of each location
  • Participate to the permanent improvement of the processes with daily suggestions
  • Communicate with other back office teams, relationship managers and other WM entities 
  • Perform a manual analysis in order to determine its eligibility and correct FR of Structured Products

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor in Economics, Finance or Banking
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English
  • Availability for a 6 month internship
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Adaptability and proactivity, multitasking
  • Ability to organize and prioritize high volume workloads
  • Self-driven and organized
  • Rigorous and reliable
  • Strong interest and familiarity with financial markets and economic developments.

About the Team

  • The PIMH (PIMH = Portugal International Markets Hub) Credit Team, is part of Wealth Management. One of the key roles of the team is to analyze structured products and apply the financing ratio according to the financing norms
  • A structured product is a non-traditional investment product which takes advantage of the modern financial instruments in order to obtain higher returns for the investors, according to the behaviour a given underlying (stock indexes, shares, forex rates, interest rates, CDS, among others)
  • They are usually created/structured and issued by a Bank, with several possible combinations of underlying, maturity, levels of capital protection, payoff conditions, currencies, among others
  • Structured products can be divided between
    1. Capital Guaranteed the capital invested is guaranteed
    2. Non-Capital Guaranteed: the capital repayment is totally dependent on the behaviour of a given underlying
  • Because of its complex and tailor-made structure, this type of securities need to be correctly categorized in BNP Paribas systems, which are not able to automatically attribute to the structured product the correct FR according to the Financing Norms
  • For this reason, the PIMH Credit Officer will perform a manual analysis in order to determine its eligibility and its correct FR
  • This position will allow you to become a central player within the Credit scope for Wealth Management, which is an essential activity for the Bank, while providing you the opportunity to interact with other teams within Wealth Management, allowing you to
    1. Develop your network through collaboratively working with different stakeholders on a daily basis
    2. Develop or further your technical competencies regarding financial instruments
