The position at a glance
Global Banking Americas (GBA) is a core Métier of the bank, focusing on the Financing, Investment Banking and Transaction Banking needs of our Corporate Clients.
Within GBA, the COO Office-Business Management team is responsible to support business growth by implementing efficient resource & cost monitoring and assist with overall business transversal activities.
In detail
The candidate will work closely with the other team members, GBA COO office, bankers and functions (HR, Finance, IT, legal) on various analysis and initiatives. She/He will drive or support existing process with an objective of continuous improvements. The main missions are described below:
• Performance monitoring and planning – in relation with Finance, HR, business and COO team:
o Contribute to the maintenance and consolidation of GBA weekly headcount forecast and other metrics across product lines,
o Play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the data used, by performing and developing controls/reconciliations and coordinating investigations on breaks until final resolution,
o Develop an understanding of our employee’s composition and various parameters influencing GBA expenses,
o Generate or develop ad hoc analytical reports and dashboards, track various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), capture and analyze critical information and contribute to multiple analysis and presentations to facilitate business performance reviews,
o Coordinate with various teams some answers to business or management questions, with a focus but not limited to headcount data. Provide insights into various metrics based on thorough analysis.
• Organization support
o Assist business and GBA management in ad-hoc transversal topics (e.g. floor move, US open tickets organization, hiring process review, credit management sectorization, audits, etc…),
o Manage operational impacts of organizational changes within GBA in link with HR, finance and business,
o Support business development Initiatives (e.g. 2030 plan).
• Projects
o Identify improvement areas within BM organization/set-up, partner with other business managers to define and implement solutions to streamline processes. Play an active role in sharing team Best Practices,
o Under the direction of your manager and client stakeholders, support delivery of various initiatives. Ensure that the need is correctly framed and all needed actors are involved. Assist in tracking and communicating the status of ongoing projects. Support change management.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
• Technical & Analytical skills:
o Excellent analytical & numerical aptitude and mindset
o Strong ability to work with large data sets and consolidate into concise, easy to understand visualizations
o Skilled in identifying trends, outliers and inconsistencies, and communicate data-driven insights succinctly
o Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (mandatory) and Tableau & PowerBI (strong plus)
o Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
o Comfortable with basic office tools (MS Outlook, MS Word)
o Ability to quickly understand and manipulate new tools/technologies; and understand the Bank’s systems and architecture (data flows)
o Ability to quickly understand how changes may impact other processes, reports and groups
• Communication skills:
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Excel in creating impactful, data-driven content
o Ability to manage confidential information
* Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.
