Position Purpose

The person will be a key member of the Beagle team that is tasked to deliver multiple complex projects. This role is within the GM IT team. Focus will primarily be on the evolving the web platform for GM IT within Corporate & Institutional Banking. 

The role is for a Senior Java full stack developer with experience of working within a dynamic and demanding environment reacting to changing business needs who works equally well as an individual or as part of a team. 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

-  Maintenance & Enhancement, Development, Bug fixing primarily using Angular, Core Java, Struts2, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate and Oracle.

-    Independently work in application development & maintenance/enhancement projects

• Understand functional & system processes, do data-mapping, extract data to validate
• Develop/Write Technical Design and Specifications with business analysts & application users,
• Create Technical Specifications document.
• Design and develop low latency applications with Agile methodology.
• Develop & Execute Unit Test plan (Including writing Test Cases and Traceability Matrix).
• Match user requirements to developed solutions
• Conduct Workshops to train users on application usage
• Automation of Deployments
• Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improve system availability, resilience and performance
• Strong focus on high availability and performance
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review

Contributing Responsibilities

• Contribute towards knowledge sharing initiatives across the team.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Mandatory

-  Hands on Development Experience on Core Java 1.8 and above. 

-  Working experience and understanding of Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate.

-  Hands on Experience on PL SQL using Oracle 19c and above, with clear understanding of Stored Procedures, Triggers and Indexes

-  Knowledge of OO Concepts, SOLID principles, design patterns.

-  Working hands-on knowledge on Angular Framework.

-  Excellent working knowledge of Internet Web 2.0 : HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap

-  Working knowledge of Application servers: Tomcat, Apache

-  Good Analytical skills, ability to find solutions to technical problems.

-  Deep technical knowledge in systems, application frameworks, database optimization, and experience being responsible for the success of software development projects

-  Ability to present multiple solution options, and drive defect free products.

-  Proven record interpreting and fulfilling requirements by developing high performing, scalable and maintainable solutions with multiple technologies.

-  Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, deployment automation, code reviews, and test driven development.

-  Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a simple concise manner

-  Extensive experience in working with business and technical teams to define requirements, Functional and Technical specification, establish technical strategies.

-  Knowledge of Banking transactions/ trades data sources, flowing through the DWH using ETL processes.

-  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex issues in a simple concise manner.

-  Strong coordination and organizational skills. 

-  Multi-tasking capabilities.
