Job Description Summary
 

Within the Core Banking Transformation department, the IT Service Delivery Manager will partner with technology and business subject matter experts in analyzing Bank of the West core bank systems and executing against a multi-year transformation plan.  The Program to modernize the core bank systems has enterprise-wide implications, requiring you to analyze cross-divisional impacts and apply your expertise in large-scale system implementations.  By doing so, you'll help redefine the customer banking experience at Bank of the West.  In return, we'll offer you a chance to grow personally and professionally, being responsible for innovative solution delivery that directly impacts one of our strategic focus areas.

Essential Job Functions:
• Acts as a technology advisor and champion in identifying, evaluating and recommending appropriate strategies and technologies for building products and delivering services
• Responsible for learning and understanding the enterprise technology strategies and the LOB strategies in order to align and effectively communicate both IT and LOB requirements and needs
• Participates in the planning process for future development and growth of the business
• Plans, coordinates and schedules investigation, feasibility studies and surveys, including the economic evaluations for proposed technology-based products and services to determine cost, benefit and applicability
• Leads strategy and execution to build, buy or integrate business technology solutions
• Applies strong financial stewardship while delivering on short and long range business goals
• Finds opportunities for continuous quality improvement; Evaluates alternatives for modifications to systems/frameworks and recommends and/or makes decisions on solutions that meet long-term business objectives and current organizational requirements
• Works with the lines of business to coordinate the prioritization of application software projects
• Develops cross system impact plan and coordinates with information systems groups
• Participates with all areas on information systems to design and maintain overall application software and system's architecture
• Maintains a working knowledge of current and emerging technologies, and interprets their applicability to short and long-term bank needs
• May conduct vendor negotiations and develop contract proposals
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience

• 10 + years experience leading product/solution implementations

Understanding of Core Bank technology systems and technology providers

• Knowledge of banking practices and processes leveraging core bank systems in a heavily integrated environment
• Experience leading enterprise technology service delivery
• Knowledge and experience leading large transformational programs
• Experience with Modern frameworks, Service Oriented and Object Oriented programming
• Ability to understand complex, multi-tiered architectures
• Experience across all phases of the SDLC and Agile software development practices
• Financial Management knowledge for building business cases and cost benefit scenarios
• Experience in developing business proposals
• Ability to manage multiple, complex, concurrent systems and projects
• Experience with managing vendor services and relationships
• Effectively liaises across departments to accomplish tasks and projects
• Ability to work independently, lead own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals
• Good social interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Desire to learn and grow


Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent
