The Trade Finance Service Centre, with more than 100 HC, is a large and critical area within Operations covering Traditional Trade products (bank guarantees and documentary products) and servicing the main European countries like: Austria, Germany, Netherland, Spain and UK.
ABOUT THE JOB
MISSION
At TFSC we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounting Controller to oversee all aspects of accounting control related to transactions booked under Guarantees services provided by TFSC. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting information, and will be the guarantor of the accounting control risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Controls:
• Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Such controls can be either performed by the Accounting Controller of by any of the sub-teams within the TFSC Invoicing and Accounting Control Team.
• Oversee the independent accounting control, monitoring the effective application of internal controls by all sub-teams within the TFSC Invoicing and Accounting Control Team.
• Develop and implement remediation plans to address control deficiencies and improve overall control effectiveness.
• Conduct awareness-raising meetings with the TFSC Invoicing and Accounting Control Team on the rigor of recording transactions in the Bank’s books, or on the treatment of accounting transactions executed by DWINGS tool.
• Ensure the registration in Claire of any operational risk incident identified and define and monitor action plans if needed.
• Collaborate with OPC in the identification / assessment of operational risks related to accounting.
Reconciliation & Certification of accounts:
• Ensure that accounts assigned to TFSC under Guarantees scope are reconciled and certified on a timely basis.
o Ensure all accounting balances and remaining movements are justified. This analysis may require tracing back to the origin of accounting entries.
o Ensure accuracy and integrity of Monthly Certification of accounts.
• Ensure the regularization of transactions within the scope of each Certification (Concorde breaks or outstanding AMBRE items).
• Collaborate with Finance Teams in the analytical review of revenues.
• Report to Management any accounting anomalies.
Communication:
• Act as SPOC with Finance to provide the answers and supporting documents requested following the different reports and certifications needed
• Act as SPOC with External and Internal Auditors related to accounting data/processes
Projects and new system developments:
• Act as SPOC for new system developments or projects, including onboarding of new countries.
o Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new system implementations, enhancements, and process changes related to Fees management.
o Collaborate with project teams to define test cases if necessary, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
o Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.
o Provide feedback on system functionality.
o Act as a bridge between project managers, business teams, and operations, ensuring alignment between system developments and operational needs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration or similar
- Sound knowledge of general accounting rules, mastering specific accounting rules for guarantees.
- Sound knowledge of Banking operations
- At least, a basic understanding of Guarantees products
- Previous experience in internal or external audit, risk management, or control testing. Having an experience within the banking or financial services industry would be a plus.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in conducting control testing procedures and assessing control effectiveness.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess control deficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
- Accounting and Financial knowledge is mandatory for the role.
Fluent English, Spanish and French is a plus.

- Strong accounting expertise.
- Good working knowledge of Finance Tools and Microsoft tools.
- identifying and presenting key information. Giving a structuring opinion and synthesizing all the elements pertaining to the matter in hand.
- Risk management. Detecting, analysing and measuring risks, understanding their consequences in a long term perspective and acting to reduce them.
- Integrity. Acting ethically, in compliance with what is said and respecting the company’s values and rules.
