  • Within the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) business, RISK ORM CIB Global Markets (GM) is the 2nd Line of Defence in terms of operational risks related to Global Markets activities
  • Globally, the team is represented in the Asia-Pacific, Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. In EMEA, the team is split across Paris, London, Lisbon and Porto
  • Algorithmic trading has a high level of inherent risks ranging from technical defects causing financial losses to non-adherence to rules and regulations causing actions by regulators
  • The “Operational Risk Specialist - Algorithmic Trading, GM” will manage all operational risk related aspects of algorithmic trading in all of the Global Markets business lines, across all products and processes to ensure that risks are adequately mitigated

Your Main Activities Are

  • The Operational Risk Specialist - Algorithmic Trading, GM is responsible for ensuring that risks related to algorithmic trading are adequately mitigated. For this, the Operational Risk Specialist is particularly expected to:
    1. Monitor emerging risks by analysing historical incidents, market developments, new activities, technical developments as well as regulatory requirements
    2. Provide risk opinions in relevant committees, on risk and control self-assessments, new activities and structural and organisational changes
    3. Perform independent testing on processes and controls regarding algorithmic trading
    4. Communicate and liaise with all involved stakeholders, including other operational risk officers, business owners and management
    5. Follow and apply internal rules, policies and guidelines, including the operational risk management framework

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting / Business Management or related
  • At least 7 years of experience in Banking and Financial Operations or similar
  • At least 5 years of experience in Risk and Controls or similar            
  • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
  • Knowledge in
    • Global Markets related products and processes
    • IT (technologies and processes)
    • Risk management, especially with regards to operational risks, and the 3 Lines of Defence model
    • Legal and regulatory requirements with regards to algorithmic trading
  • Active listening
  • Ability to collaborate / teamwork
  • Analytical ability
  • Communication skills, both written and oral
