Join our multidisciplinary IT Continuity team at BNP Paribas Fortis and help safeguard the bank’s ability to withstand serious system failures. Your role will directly contribute to protecting our critical services and ensuring business continuity across the organisation.

As an IT Resiliency Engineer, you will:

  • Ensure the bank can react effectively in the event of a critical IT failure (such as a major application or data centre outage).
  • Collaborate with application owners to deliver, maintain, and test disaster recovery (DR) procedures.
  • Act as the main point of contact for several teams ("tribes") on all topics related to IT resiliency.
  • Monitor and follow up on: infrastructure or application changes that could impact recovery processes.The planning and execution of DR procedures and exercises.
  • Help coordinate major disaster recovery tests, held occasionally during evenings or weekends (around 4 times per year).

Cross-functional collaboration: work with various teams across the bank, from application owners to infrastructure experts. Meaningful impact: your work directly contributes to keeping the bank operational during critical incidents. Regulatory insight: gain exposure to European and Belgian banking regulations and learn how global policies are applied locally. Continuous learning: this is a role where curiosity and growth are encouraged—resiliency is a fast-evolving field.

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) as a minimum requirement.
  • Genuine interest in IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery – prior knowledge is an asset.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure platforms such as Windows, Linux or Cloud, knowledge of Mainframe is a bonus.
  • Comfortable handling administrative tasks alongside less hands-on, operational work.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • A team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and learning from others.
  • Resilient under pressure, able to stay focused and composed during challenging situations.
  • Eager to grow - always seeking to learn new technologies, improve working methods, or develop personally.
  • Very good command of English, knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
