What is this position about?
Events and Sponsorship role under Brand and Communications APAC (B&C) plans and executes both business specific and transversal bank-wide in/external events and sponsorships. By liaising with senior management and key stakeholders from across the bank, the team ensures events align with the strategic priorities of the bank and increases brand visibility and traction with target audience and wider community.
They also work in collaboration with the broader B&C team/other business lines’ marketing and events teams, to amplify the impact of events through the full range of marcomms channels.
The role sits within B&C South East Asia (SEA) in Singapore, and the individual will report to the Head of B&C SEA.
What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?
• Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, to plan and execute business specific and bank-wide events and sponsorships for internal and external audiences. The role may be required to travel to support internal and external events in the SEA region.
• Work with regional/global B&C teams and business stakeholders on cross region/cross border events. Manage the full life cycle of the event, including the event planning, Safe-the-Date email/invitation, RSVP, KYX clearance if required, on-site support and pre-event or post-event comms support.
• Events could include: client hospitality, 3rd party sponsorships, bank-wide sponsorships, offsites, strategist/economist/researchers’ events, management townhalls, regional events, thought leadership conferences and seminars.
• Liaise with business stakeholders on event requirements and advise on branding, marketing materials, event format, logistics, venue suggestions, budget, compliance and approval protocols.
• Cultivate relationships with vendors and service providers to deliver cost effective/high quality events e.g. digital vendors, F&B outlets, hotels etc.
• Work with APAC business stakeholders to evaluate and negotiate industry events and sponsorships, including management of all related contract negotiations, activation and due diligence.
• Actively adopt digital & innovation tools to streamline administrative processes and enhance automation and efficiency. Expand digital touchpoints to increase engagement e.g. event apps (sli.do/eventogy), websites/microsites, iPad presentations, virtual conferences, social media and pre/post event tracking and reporting, to align with the Bank’s global digital strategy and ambitions.
• Produce post event surveys, reports and analytics for internal stakeholders to help assess the strategic/brand value of an event. Provide insights based on data to help the business validate ROI and monetization against objectives.
• Liaise with wider B&C team in order to maximize impact of initiatives by amplifying more broadly across multiple marcomms channels, e.g. social media, post event thought leadership articles for advertising campaign, internal intranet stories, post event client comms.
• Share best practice, new guidelines and topical information across the broader events team, providing practical suggestions/support where possible.
• Manage budgets and management approval process, including post-event cost reconciliations and billing.
What is required for you to succeed?
• Ability to master digital event tools and provide data analytics and insights around events.
• Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who has the ability to build constructive working relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
• Able to manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders, in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal fluency in English – knowledge of design/branding and good writing skills are essential.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Focus on cost savings and budgets.
• Experience of working in the financial services industry/APAC market is an advantage.
• A growth mindset, with the ability to acquire industry/product knowledge.
Specific Qualifications
• 3+ years of prior event marketing experience (agency/in-house) preferred, ideally having worked with financial services firms in event and marketing capacity.
