About the Role

As our Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of data protection and compliance across our organization. You will oversee and shape our data privacy framework, working closely with both internal teams and regulators. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of critical privacy initiatives, while fostering a culture of data protection throughout the company.

You will cover all second-line tasks (LoD2) for our entities in Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Is the main correspondent in terms of Data Privacy for the entities in scope. Contact with regulators are done via Territory DPO.
  • Set and maintain Data Protection framework organization within the entity and filiates, in accordance with group governance.
  • Analyzes and gives opinion on Privacy by Design Analysis. Determines whether a DPIA is necessary.
  • Control the register of operations 
  • Test and challenge 1st line controls and RCSA. Develop and deploy second line controls (independent analysis) within the entity and filiates.
  • Build and implement a data privacy culture awareness program
  • Alerts/reports management of data protection related subjects
  • Responsible for Personal Data Protection compliance by meeting the requirements of the Policy and supporting procedures.

The scope of the position includes Belgium (Alpha Credit) and the Netherlands (PF NL).

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, ready to take ownership of data protection processes and drive impactful change.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, IT, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Certification: A recognized Data Protection Certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, GDPR Certification) is a plus.
  • Languages: Fluent in French, Dutch, and English (spoken and written).
  • Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR and other privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with Privacy by Design, DPIAs, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and regulators.
