Communication Manager
This position is based in Zurich
YOUR TEAM
The Marketing & Communications department is at the service of the General management, business lines (Corporate and Institutional Banking, Wealth Management) and functions to promote and protect the bank’s image in Switzerland.
The mission of the Department encompasses:
- Brand content and Strategic planning
- Media relations
- Advertising
- Digital communication (country website and LinkedIn account)
- Internal communication
- Events for both external and internal audiences
- Management of the staff volunteering activities
The department is in charge of the definition and implementation of an efficient and impactful communication strategy, aligned with the bank’s strategic priorities, to raise its awareness in the country and promote engagement both internally and externally.
YOUR WORKDAY
Under the supervision of the Head of Marketing & Communications, you are responsible for actively implementing the corporate communication strategy of BNP Paribas in Switzerland, for both internal and external audiences.
You will contribute to:
- Internal communication: plan, edit and write content (in English, German and French) for internal communications mediums, staff newsletter and regular internal communications to employees and if required work on the communication’s and content’s layout. Be proactive in identifying topics that enhance internal visibility of the bank’s projects and successes
- External communication: support the members of the team if required for external communication projects
- Internal and external events: contribute to the organisation of events (managing logistics, invitation process…)
- Manage the volunteering program for employees
- Design: productions of graphic elements supporting the bank’s internal and external communication, ensuring compliance with the group’s visual and graphic guidelines
To be successful in this position, you need to be comfortable working both independently and within a larger team environment, proactive, solution and results oriented, highly organized with a keen eye for detail. Assume responsibility for any ad-hoc tasks as projects require.
This role will report directly to the Head of Marketing & Communications and is responsible for owning projects from beginning to end.
YOUR SKILLS
- This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, adaptable, has strong language, writing, communication and networking skills, and the tenacity to see projects through to completion while placing them in a wider context
- Willingness and ability to take ownership of different and challenging projects through to completion and to help tailoring ideas and solutions to suit the BNP Paribas’, business units’ and different stakeholders’ requirements and expectations
- Ability to process information quickly, at high and detailed levels
- Collaboration, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, strong attention to detail, specifically with regards to written communications
- Ability to build and cultivate relationships with the different internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels and functions of an organization and to adapt to cultural differences
- Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, problem solve, with a hands-on approach
- Proven effectiveness when working under pressure
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in communication, marketing or a related field
- Previous experience in corporate communications as well as in the private / banking / finance sector and / or a large international corporation preferred
- Solid understanding of the best practices and fields principles as well as challenges and opportunities related to corporate communications, especially for the banking and finance sector, with the ability to think creatively for different platforms and audiences
- Ability to point to tangible, measurable results in internal communications, content management, events and to drive the creation of new content and formats
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between the BNP Paribas’ three sites Geneva, Zurich and Lugano as projects require
- Fluent written and verbal communications skills in German, and fluent written and verbal communications skills in French and/or English
