JAD description : 

Within the infrastructure teams, the Infrastructure engineer is a technical expert, recognised for his/her strong expertise in one or more technologies associated with the operating systems

implemented by BNP Paribas, transfer tools, web servers or application servers, as well as containers and container orchestration solutions.

He/she is in charge of managing the technical platform [OS] and the infrastructure underlying it, in a context of developing Cloud solutions.

The main missions of the Infrastructure Engineer are as follows:

  • Maintaining services in operational condition and ensuring safety and efficiency:
  • Carrying out studies, contributing to transformation projects and deploying technical solutions
  • Participating in a continuous improvement initiative
  • Acting as the contact person for suppliers in order to manage the technical aspects;

Principal Activities

THE COLLABORATOR WILL BE INVOLVED IN SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES

  • Defining the standards [OS], engineering rules, Configuration Management processes and tools
  • Building deployment infrastructure
  • Automating recurring operating actions
  • Participating in optimising the server environments operated

– Performance audits

– Tuning system

  • Transforming current activities into an orchestrated on demand mode.
  • Ensuring the maintenance in operational condition of the infrastructure within his/her scope, notably including:

– Incident management;

– Diagnosis of failures;

– Ensuring that problems are eradicated;

– Assessment and remediation of risks, notably those linked to security and the continuation of the service;

– Management of obsolescence;

– Formalisation of the procedural framework supporting the implementation of operational processes;

– Support;

– Obligations;

– Evolution of infrastructure;

  • Installing and maintaining the cluster environments in operational condition.
  • Carrying out studies, contributing to transformation projects and deploying technical solutions.

– Defining the standards, engineering rules, management configuration processes and tools.

– Participating in discussions on the development of infrastructure within his/her scope and defining the impacts on production / support.

– Leading projects, designing solutions, participating in technical studies, defining appropriate architectures, producing prototypes and deploying the most appropriate technical solutions in

collaboration with the business lines 

– Building deployment infrastructure 

  • Inclusion within a continuous improvement initiative

– Producing the data and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) required to manage and

automate the production and operation of solutions.

– Automating recurring operating actions

– Participating in the optimisation of the server environments operated (performance audits,

system tuning)
