Wealth Management - Portfolio Advisor

The Portfolio Advisor is responsible for:

  1. Providing holistic portfolio advisory services in line with WM investment themes & proper risk management considerations (client suitability, cross-border, market volatility, etc.)
  2. Delivering regular portfolio reviews and investment recommendations to RMs and occasional joint client calls/meetings
  3. Engaging with RMs, internal product teams and other stakeholders to ensure optimal advisory service delivery

Products

Full range of listed and OTC products except Futures contracts and life policies

Obligations and Compliance

  • Follow the general guidelines of the Bank and Management policies
  • Follow the specific guidelines, policies and regulations related to (minimum requirement):
    • Advising on Securities
    • Advising on Forex (non-leveraged and leveraged)
    • Advising on Structured deposits
    • Marketing Collective Investment Scheme
    • Client Suitability
    • Client Selling process
    • Cross border rules
    • Marketing documentation
  • Ensure all investment activities are done accurately and fairly handled and in accordance to regulations & Management policies.
  • Inform and Escalate issues to Management regarding irregularities in all investment activity, including trading and incidents
  • Maintain proper audit trails

Technical & Behavioural Competencies

Essential Technical Knowledge/Skills 

  • Financial market knowledge and product expertise (multi asset class) with experience in various market cycles
  • Principles of portfolio management, portfolio diversification, asset allocation and risk management
  • Ability to review client portfolios, curate solutions, connect well with RMs/clients 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant financial market and/or investment advisory experience
  • Strong communication skills in English (Mandarin is a plus)
