Legal Advisor Wealth Management – Transactional Lawyer

This position will be based at BNP Paribas, Zurich branch (the “Bank”). The job is a full-time position for an unlimited duration.

YOUR WORK

The candidate advises the various services in the fields of banking, financial and commercial law. It is responsible for monitoring all legal issues related to the services provided. It seeks and proposes solutions best suited to the objectives to be achieved in compliance with legislation and within the framework of the Bank's procedures and rules. The Legal advisor provides support to the various Business Lines and functions of the Bank, in particular Wealth Management, where appropriate in collaboration with the other functions and colleagues of the Legal Department.

The role focuses on the following areas: 

• Negotiation and drafting of Wealth Management complex financing transactions often multi-jurisdictional (Lombard loans, Sharia financing, mortgage loans, etc)
• Provide legal assistance as part of the Bank’s offering of new financial products and services
• Drafting of contracts and contractual documentation, where applicable in line with BNP Paribas standards
• Provide support for projects concerning other Group entities in Switzerland
• Support in the framework of regulatory projects related to banking and finance
• Provide legal support to the Business Lines in relation to Cross borders themes in accordance with the Bank set up
• With a view to transversality, advice and support to the various Business Lines, including Corporate investment banking and Jet&Yacht financing, and other Functions of the Bank

The candidate is expected to be flexible and ready to perform any other task related to his/her function.

YOUR PROFILE

Holder of a Swiss lawyer’s certificate, ideally supplemented by a higher education diploma (LL.M or other). Prior experience in banking or finance or in a law firm operating in the banking sector of at least 6-10 years. Strong interest in issues related to Wealth Management and financing.

Fluent in English and German is required. French understanding of and writing skills are a plus.
