The Compliance function lies at the heart of BNP Paribas’ risk management. One of the pillars of the Group’s internal control setup, Compliance teams work both independently and in close partnership with the Business to adapt to the evolution of the Group’s activities and to the requirements of the regulators.
Compliance teams contribute to maintaining the reputation of BNP Paribas and the trust of our clients, thanks to their strong control of non-compliance risks, allowing everyone to work with confidence.
The Compliance Officer is a member of the BNP Paribas Seoul Branch Compliance platform and shall contribute to a solid partnership between Compliance and the Business.
He/she shall protect the Group on existing and emerging Compliance risks, participating to supervisory engagement and risk management to ensure adherence to regulatory expectations.
The Compliance officer shall contribute on three key areas: Market Integrity domain, Global Markets Compliance, and cross-functional regulatory topics (regulatory office).
Responsibilities
Market Integrity Domain and Global Markets Compliance responsibilities
• Provide Business and Compliance stakeholders with Compliance advisory and guidance on Global Markets and Market Integrity matters for the Branch
• Contribute to the supervision of Compliance risks & control framework within the scope of expertise and responsibility
• Perform the following monitoring & review activities:
Analyse Actimize Market Abuse Alerts
Review Marketer’s Contribution Alerts
Monitor Off-Market Price Transactions
Monitor E-Comm and Voice Surveillance
• Perform Actimize Market Abuse UAT testing and monitoring (dashboard)
• Provide transversal regulatory watch and monitoring of regulatory evolutions that have an impact on the business or on operations within the Territory and follow the general principles (the “Regulatory Watch Best Practices”) of the regulatory watch process. These include but are not limited to:
Identification (and update where needed) of appropriate regulatory watch sources;
Ensure proper execution of a process for regular monitoring of such sources;
Communication on relevant regulatory watch developments to all necessary stakeholders.
• Local Compliance Regulatory Office acts as local text identification leader for Compliance and can be assisted by potential contributors (local or regional – such as Regional Compliance domains), who can contribute to high level impact assessment and determination of concerned operating entities.
• Local Compliance Regulatory Office prepares Territory Compliance Committees (“TCC”) or Cross function committees to cover key regulatory watch topics and to decide on appropriate measures to be taken (e.g. launch of regulatory projects) and monitored.
• Ensure management of local Compliance procedures
• Follow up FSS publications via EDES and email
Secondary Responsibilities
Perform backup duties as required and documented in the department.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies required
Fluent in English, knowledge of regulation, procedure drafting, capacity for coordination
Experience and Qualifications required
Hands-on experience with 10 years primarily in Global Markets Compliance work
