Job Title: Associate

Duties: Function within the Diversified Industries team to support the origination and execution of Advisory activities. Assist with marketing and execution of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transactions. Prepare and produce marketing and pitch materials to assist the senior team on client coverage initiatives. Prepare team credentials, company profiles, market research, and valuations. Conduct valuation analyses on public and private companies and build financial models, and comparable company analyses. Perform industry and company-specific research for internal credit committees on potential financings. Screen potential buyers for various assets and companies using S&P Capital IQ, Pitchbook, and equity research reports. Draft industry research materials and update market data on a regular basis for senior team. Coordinate deals of all parties involved in managing the transaction and identify cross-selling opportunities within existing Advisory portfolio. Build and maintain a database of comparable publicly traded companies, transactions, and industry research. Support and coordinate live transactions through day-to-day coordination with management, bidders, and advisors. Review and refine valuation analysis and financial models with appropriate assumptions. Telecommuting permitted 20%: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the BNP Paribas Securities Corp office in New York, NY. Travel required 10% to North America and Europe.

SALARY:   $175,000 – $225,000/ year

Work Schedule: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week. (Monday – Friday)

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Management, Accounting, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in job offered or a related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with the following: experience in investment banking (M&A or Diversified Industries) or reviewing/updating financial model, analyzing financial data of private/public companies, valuation, transaction-related services, market research, or monitoring financial news related to companies, or corporate strategy, at investment banking, private equity, hedge fund, asset management, consulting, or accounting organization; proficiency in operating and valuation models; M&A sell-side or buy-side processes, including sell-side experience preparing marketing materials and sell-side financial models, or buy-side experience performing buy-side valuations of target financial and operating data; financial and sector research, including ability to identify key drivers, perform financial benchmarking, detect macro and micro trends and incorporate such findings into corporate finance models, and reviewing financial disclosures and investor call transcripts; developing and maintaining sector-specific materials, including comparable company analyses, comparable transaction analysis, benchmarking analyses, M&A developments, relevant sector-specific developments, and reviewing sell-side reports and various industry reports to generate sector-specific knowledge; leveraging Finance modeling expertise, Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Coverage, and various committee approval processes; leveraging operating models (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statements), Discounted Cash Flow models, Leveraged Buyout Models, Merger Models, Acquisition Financing Models, Weighted Average Cost of Capital Models, or IPO and follow-on valuation models to perform market analysis; supporting capital raising (IPO, follow-on offering, private placement, refinancing), deal sourcing, and leveraged buyout situations, and preparing internal memorandum and presentations for risk committee and senior management; experience in reviewing or updating financial models, analyzing financial data of private/public companies, valuation, transaction-related services, or market research; and experience in monitoring financial news related to companies, or corporate strategy, at investment banking, private equity, hedge fund, asset management, consulting, or accounting organization.
