Job Title: Assistant Manager – Sanctions and Embargoes, Level A

About Business line/Function: India CoE Compliance Hub enables safeguarding the Group’s reputation and mitigating the risks across all business lines by supporting the Compliance functions globally. Currently, the India CoE Hub is structured into divisions aligned with the areas they serve, offering services for Group Compliance COO TOP, trade surveillance, electronic communications monitoring, transversal risk management, personal account dealing, MIS, and project support. The team collaborates closely with business partners worldwide.
Position Purpose: The Sanctions and Embargoes Level A Analyst mission is to perform the first, quick triage of alerts produced by the Group’s Sanctions & Embargoes payments filtering system. The Level A S&E Officer must recognise obvious false hits and release the payments linked to these, escalating other alerts to B1 teams for further analysis and investigation.
Responsibilities
· Analyse sanctions alerts by reviewing the contents of the alert, including payment details and hits and on the basis of these determining whether the alert is an obvious false hit and thus to be released or is not an obvious false hit and needs to be escalated to level B1.
· Deliver a timely and accurate delivery of analysis by ensuring alerts are correctly prioritised, promptly reviewed, correctly analysed and the right drop-down menu decisions selected.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and tools by identifying and measuring process inefficiencies or tool deficiencies, escalating these so that proposed changes can be assessed and sharing bet practice with other Compliance Hub Teams.
· Support the Team Leader in the team’s organisation and coherence by facilitating discussions within the team (e.g. at Level A Production meetings).
· Contribute to transversal team topics like organisation of rotas, events and more.

Specific Qualifications:
6+ years’ experience in Banking and Financial Operations and delivery preferably in Compliance or Financial domains.
Graduate / Postgraduate in Bachelor's (3-4 years) in Economics, Finance and Accounting, or related field
Diploma with (3-4 years) Banking Operational Experience
Location: Chennai
Availability: Able to work night shift including Sundays and Public Holidays
