Maison Dorée conference: the American financial crisis

By BNP Paribas initiative, the Maison Dorée conference, devoted to the American financial crisis, took place at the French Banking Federation (FBF) on April 15. Ariane Obolensky, managing director of the FBF, opened the discussion. The conference was well attended as the subject was so topical. Those attending heard Philippe d'Arvisenet, global chief economist of BNP Paribas and Mathieu Kaiser, senior economist. They showed the effect of the American crises (property, subprime and securitisation) on the French economy and its growth prospects. Tougher times loom.
