BNP Paribas receives the 2022 ‘Top Employer Europe’ certification

Published On 20.01.2022

For the ninth year in a row, BNP Paribas has been awarded the 2022 ‘Top Employers Institute’ label. This certification is made possible by BNP Paribas' certification in eight countries of the Group: Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, and Spain, certified Top Employer for the first year. BNP Paribas is also ranked as the sole bank in the Top 10 employers in France, which it joins for the first time.

Other countries and entities of the Group also benefit from the Top Employer certification: Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico), BNP Paribas Personal Finance (United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and South Africa), as well as BNP Paribas Real Estate Germany.

For 25 years, Top Employers Institute has certified the quality of candidate companies' human resources practices. To do so, it conducts an audit covering 19 topics. This year, BNP Paribas obtains an overall average of 90.58% * (89% in 2021) according to a benchmark performed in comparison with the 1,071 Top Employer certified companies in Europe.

Diversity and inclusion, career and well-being: three key strengths of BNP Paribas

Diversity and inclusion with a score of 89.87%, (+14 points**)

Through this topic, Top Employers Institute ensures that BNP Paribas values diversity by creating systems and processes that ensure integration and respect for all. For several years, BNP Paribas has been pursuing a proactive policy in favour of diversity and inclusion. The policy is also the result of the commitment of over 30,000 employees who get involved every day in professional networks and who bring this policy to life all over the world.

The recent launch of the CulturAll network, made up of various local BNP Paribas networks, provides an opportunity for employees to take collective action to support ethnic diversity at all levels of the Group.

Career with a score of 90% (+12 points **)
This theme focuses on the variety of opportunities BNP Paribas offers its employees to support them in their professional development. First of all, mentoring and professional support are 87.50% recognised, compared to an average of 53.41% for other Top Employer certified companies in Europe. Moreover, BNP Paribas ranked 87.50% thanks to its HR tool “About Me” in the Interactive Portal category for career management (compared to 46.13% in the benchmark). BNP Paribas was also awarded in 2021 by the Deloitte Awards in the #BusinessPartner category for About Me, a career booster serving 98% of the Group's employees.
Well-being with a score of 84.3% (+10 points **)

This rating reflects all of BNP Paribas' actions and commitments to promote each employee’s well-being, both in the workplace and in her/his daily life. Given the health context, working methods and environments were impacted and transformed very quickly. Ensuring the health and well-being of employees, ensuring employment and maintaining their employability has therefore been at the heart of the Group's concerns. The extensive digitalisation plan, which has been in place for 10 years, has allowed us to largely develop remote work, covering up to 140,000 employees worldwide, while continuing to serve customers in the best possible way.

All Human Resources teams are mobilised on a daily basis to ensure the physical and mental well-being of employees at work. In May 2021, BNP Paribas launched the ‘We Care’ program, which allows employees to rethink and upgrade the health and well-being offer at work so that they can more easily find information about listening and support devices. The programme began in France and will gradually be extended to all employees worldwide.

“ THE HEALTH OF OUR EMPLOYEES IS AT THE HEART OF THE GROUP'S CONCERNS AND PRESERVING IT IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY. ”

Sofia Merlo

Head of Human Resources of the BNP Paribas Group
