About this opportunity 

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated DCM FIG originator Analyst to join our Nordic team based in Stockholm. Today the team consists of three people, and we are now expanding our team! As an analyst, you will be accountable for providing support to more senior team members on day-to-day tasks related to pitching and executing new bond transactions, and providing strategic advice to financial institution clients.

In this role you will undertake transaction-oriented activities, spending time on work such as client pitches, analyses and proposals, due diligence, document processing, market and industry updates, and financial and statistical analysis. As an Analyst you have direct supervision from more experienced colleagues, partnering with them on client activity and project work, with no unsupervised client contact. 

In this role you are a member of the Structuring & Execution Group (SEG), which sits within the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team, based in Stockholm, with a regional focus on Northern European clients. 

This role reports to Senior Marketer FIG DCM Jacob Wittstrom, and to the Head of the Structuring & Execution Group FIG Team, Andrew Templeton, who sits in London. 

Main scope of the role

  • Accountable as an entry level professional within the DCM FIG working under own initiative with readily available supervision and guidance
  • Responsible for providing support to senior team members through undertaking non-complex and transaction-oriented tasks
  • You will primarily focus on developing product and technical knowledge and competence as well as developing a wider working knowledge of the market

What you will do 

  • Support team members/marketers in their client coverage and transaction activities. This may include, but not exclusively, the production of marketing materials and pitch books
  • Support the maintenance of existing business and assisting with new products and developments by completing allocated administrative tasks 
  • Support the collaboration across business lines and within Primary Markets on the origination and execution stages 
  • Assist drafting of roadshow presentations and client marketing events, Requests for Financial Proposals, Market Updates, information memorandums and regulatory documentation etc. 
  • Analyse financial markets (in particular, FIG) trends and prospects 
  • Providing active and adequate support during transaction execution including aspects related to compliance, legal, bookbuilding, client management and pricing 
  • Contribute to BNPP operational permanent control framework
  • Understand and value all business and transaction related risks, including market, credit, operational, compliance, legal, regulatory and reputation risks
  • Support the development of strategic client relationships
  • Work on miscellaneous tasks, such as such as input to client emails and presentation emails, and liaising with syndicate on pricing, where more guidance may be required
  • Continue to develop basic skills related to the role and the wider DCM FIG team, operating under the supervision of more senior staff

Relevant experience and requirements

  • University degree or comparable qualification / business experience preferred
  • Technical experience related to DCM FIG transactions or of other structured products required
  • Pre-existing knowledge of markets/products
  • Prior experience in DCM FIG via rotations or other work experience is beneficial
  • A proven team player with cross-cultural awareness 
  • A strong personal focus on accuracy and attention to detail and ability to priorities workload based on shifting business needs
  • An effective communicator capable of delivering complex information or messages clearly both verbally and in writing 
  • A strong collaborator with ability to build and expand the personal network across the Bank gaining understanding of how to navigate the function and the wider Bank effectively
  • Adheres to and fully recognizes regulatory requirements and BNPP policy including BNP Paribas Code of Conduct
  • Skilled in the use of a range of standard computer software, e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel (VBA/ Macro Level) and Word. Experience in using financial information systems and in-house risk / pricing tools preferred
