About Business line/Function:
The APAC IT Infrastructure & Production team is responsible in services & system deployment and maintenance & support by setting up Database infrastructure architecture in APAC Region.
Position Purpose
As a Senior Oracle Database Administration, you will primarily be involved in capacity planning, optimization & upgrade; configuration & customization; disaster recovery; and offshore disaster recovery strategy planning. You will maintain and participate in regional disaster recovery drills as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end system performance tuning to help to improve the response time acceptable for clients
- Provide high quality, balanced analysis and advice on a range of issues of considerable complexity within a specified SLA
- Take principal responsibility for the identification of key methodological or process issues in the team.
- Critically evaluates solutions based on logical assumptions and factual information. You will recommend appropriate solutions as needed.
- Participate in identification and root cause analysis of repeating problems and escalation to the responsible party for recovery and future prevention.
- Provide Incident troubleshooting and support for the Databases infrastructure, provide assistance to 2nd level of support in cases of critical issues.
- DB’s performance monitoring and fine-tuning, problem management and recovery, and provisioning & usage control.
- Lead and provide direction on infrastructure database crisis.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Must have:
- Must have at least 10 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administration professional. At least 5 years’ experience in a multi-disciplined IT environment with a strong background in Service Delivery, Production Operational Support.
- Hands-on experience rewriting code, managing Oracle RAC, troubleshooting RAC performance issues and Oracle Golden Gate.
- Strong knowledge in Oracle Partitioning and Parallelism with experience in Data Warehouse Architectures.
- Strong background with ITIL framework (Incident Management, Change Management)
- Must have an understanding of Business Continuity requirements
- Expert in PL/SQL, Scripting and python scripts
- Strong Linux OS system administration understanding
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with fellow team members both regionally and local
Good to have:
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment (SG, HK, JP, FR, UK, IN) is a plus.
- Background working in Corporate and Institutional Banking.
