Head of Global Banking Operations

Position Purpose:

Oversee and in charge of Global Banking Operation activities, covering Payment & Cash Management Operations, Trade Finance Operations and Credit Operations, including BAU operations and GBO related projects. 

Direct Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise Payment & Cash Management Operations team and Trade Finance Operations team, responsible for running BAU operations effectively. Ensure daily tasks are processed accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Manage and supervise CTM and Loan Service Middle Office team. Oversee the deployment of the E2E Credit chain implementation in collaboration with regional team.
  • Streamline workflow and organization of GBO, ensure tasks allocated through team members;
  • Write up, review and update GBO related procedures and guidelines for all type of products and services, and ensure strict compliance in implementation. Also ensure the implementation of operational permanent control policies. 
  • Investigate and report GBO operational incidents timely according to the incident management policy.
  • Responsible for GBO related new system projects UR validation and UAT sign-off. 
  • Initiate or co-operate on process automation/streamline projects to maximize team capacities, reduce operating cost and improve service quality and risk control.
  • Ensure the management of data quality/integrity for all risk data input in Risk systems as well as various regulatory reporting data responsible by GBO teams.
  • Responsible for BRD review and sign-off for regulatory reports owned/contributed by GBO teams.
  • Contribute to New Product NAC/TAC process launched by Business and provide comments and approval from operations perspective.
  • Co-ordinate with APAC Operation Management, Regional operating hubs, local Ops hub to ensure efficiency, quality and timely processing for outsourced activities.
  • Co-ordinate with Head of Operations of all branches in China, so that common work practices, procedures and controls are aligned and followed in branches as same as in Head Office.
  • Engage multiple stakeholders from IT/Compliance/Business etc for resolving issues.
  • Develop quality of service and client satisfaction.
  • Train, groom and develop all levels of staff.

Qualifications and Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  • University graduate with Economics, Finance or related major;
  • Proficient in English in oral and writing;
  • 18+ years foreign banks experience in operations area with at least 10 years in managerial role;
  • Proficient knowledge of Cash Management and Trade Finance products, with hands-on experience of managing Cash, Trade and Credit operations teams.
  • Strong knowledge of NFRA/PBOC/SAFE regulatory requirements about Cash Management, Trade Finance and Loan products and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skill and people management skill;
  • Strong risk management mindset;
  • Strategic thinker, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
