JOB CONTENT

Role Description and Purpose

  • Act as Member of Investment and Research Functions;
  • To represent the Investment team (Equity and Fixed Income) in conveying the market analysis and outlook in client events and meetings, as well as write a monthly and quarterly reports for the consumption of our clients, in a client-friendly manner. To provide market analysis as backgrounds for new product launches and make product recommendations based on the prevailing market situation;
  • To provide fundamental research information on the equity sector and other relevant developments to the Portfolio Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of Market Information Material:
    • Develop, maintain, and update market update material on a regular basis, both in presentation and report formats, to be used by the Investment team and sales in client meetings/events as well as client consumption;
    • Ensure the alignment of market analysis and outlook with that of the Investment team, both Equity and Fixed Income;
    • Initiate and develop a critical market update for sales and clients in a timely manner;
    • Develop, maintain, and update the supporting market story for both existing and new products;
    • Develop write-up on market or product as requested by clients.
  • Investment support to sales:
    • Represent Investment Team in client meetings to provide market update, portfolio strategy, and investment process for new client pitch;
    • To participate and understand the decision making process of an investment strategy for both equity and fixed income portfolios, by participating in the relevant Investment team’s regular meeting, with the objective of being able to convey and explain the results to sales and clients;
    • To translate and update investment process and philosophy into a client-friendly material to be used in Company Profile or due diligence material;
    • Accompany the sales team as necessary on client events to provide market update, and ensuring that the views conveyed are the view of the Investment team for both Equity and Fixed Income;
    • Always on stand-by to provide critical market update as requested by clients.
  • Sales and Marketing Support:
    • Support the development of RFP documents and present investment process and strategy as necessary in a due diligence process;
    • To provide product recommendations that would benefit from a particular market outlook, based on the research on macro and sector above, and inform Sales proactively of the recommendations;
    • To support marketing activities in terms of providing market outlook and updates to clients based on request from Sales;
    • Keeps abreast of product features, structure, and strategy of all the products in the platform, and be able to create product positioning for the products.
  • Market & Company Analysis: Responsible for carrying out research functions and analyzing macroeconomic conditions and industrial sectors; conduct research and analysis on securities in investment portfolios that are and/or will be used as investment portfolios; and create and document notes and reports on research results. To follow up and analyze relevant equity market structural and cyclical developments, including sector and index trends, and to analyze their driving factors. To determine and coordinate analyst output. To organize and conduct equity research exclusively and to present the results of this analysis in various forums within the BNPP AM (Investment Committee). Ensure that the entire analysis process complies with applicable regulations. Ensure that document notes and reports on research results are well documented;
  • Decision Making Process: To contribute to the decision-making process of the equity model portfolio;
  • Stock Recommendations & Portfolio models: To provide stock recommendations, create company reports related to stock recommendations, and generate new stock recommendation ideas.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Understand the investment essentials, macro, micro and the market. Ability to write reports and present them to clients (internal and external), with good written and oral communication skill. Preferably has PM/equity analyst/fixed income analyst experience;
  • Proficiency knowledge in the Asset Management business;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) and English is a must;
  • Able to work in a team;
  • Have a WMI license; FRM or CFA charter holders will be preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a good ability to understand strategic business issues and appreciate compliance, risk, and legal implications;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining good partnerships with other departments;
  • Strong communication skills, understanding the intended audience, and providing effective communications.
