Leveraged Finance Capital Markets (LFCM) in EMEA sits within the Debt Markets EMEA group, part of BNP Paribas’ CIB division, and is organized across several locations including London, Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt, Brussels, Amsterdam, Milan and Lisbon, amongst others.
The team is responsible for the origination, structuring, underwriting and execution of LBO and leveraged corporate financing transactions for sub-investment grade corporate clients. The role is based in Madrid, joining a team of 10-15 professionals.

YOUR JOB
As an Vice President, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of live deals (across both High Yield Bonds and Term Loans), leading internal processes as well as driving marketing activity alongside other senior originators. You will run financial models, complete financial and credit analysis, review and structure documentation, drive materials for internal approval committees, syndication purposes and marketing efforts. You will also provide instructions and learning opportunities to more junior team members. This requires strong quantitative skills and the capacity to work on several transactions in parallel, which requires good organization skills and strong commitment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Origination
- Lead pitch processes from start to finish, in cooperation with various teams across the bank (Coverage, M&A, ECM, Syndicate)
- Interact with external clients (including debt issuers and private equity clients) and internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain internal and external networks
- Maintain high degree of market awareness and identify new business opportunities
- Execution
- Manage the day-to-day execution of live deals (internal credit / capital market memoranda, including advanced financial statement analysis and thoughtful cash flow projection models)
- Have a solid understanding of the transaction process from end-to-end
- Give support and guidance to more junior members of the team
- Have a sound understanding of the internal mechanisms of the organisation
- Ensure efficient execution of the business and transactions
- Interact directly with clients and with other advisors (lawyers, co-advisors, etc.) at an appropriate level
- Engage with senior marketers on both commercial and technical aspects of transactions
- Regulation
- Ensure that all regulatory and commercial training is completed on time and refreshed as required
- Responsible for adherence to the Bank’s corporate policies, to its internal Compliance regulations as well as to appropriate external Regulators
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- A degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record
- 5-7 years previous experience in a leveraged finance team or a similar field
- Outstanding analytical skills with proven advanced credit / risk analysis skills
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrate a willingness to solve problems and improve processes
- Proven ability to manage more junior resources
Language proficiency: fluent in English and Spanish, another EU language would be beneficial
IT skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg
