Position Purpose
The “Digital Platforms” Domain is part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Information Technology & Operations (CIB ITO) of BNP PARIBAS, it manages all the infrastructure department such as the servers, databases, storage, backup, middleware, Citrix farms and VMware infrastructure.
Within this domain, Backup administration has a relevant role, as all production assets have to be covered by a proper backup policy that allow to restore them to a previous point when required according.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
This position is focus on the management of Backup infrastructure for largest Asian and European countries where BNPP is present.
This infrastructure has to cover backup&restore needs for servers, databases and NAS services. As part of his/her role, the candidate selected has to contribute to preserve the required performance for a demanding service with critical assets covered by it.
As part of this role, the candidate has to contribute to keep a high availability environment.
Due to large number of assets to manage, to have a high learning capacity is key to adopt required skills on new technologies.
High reactivity, proactive improvements and capacity to follow plan action linked to new project and/or incident remediation are part of the day to day of this position.
He/She will have to participate in the Day-to Day run and to be involved in evolution projects.
To work following ITIL methodology is part of the daily basis in this and the rest of IT areas.
Contributing Responsibilities
Business relationship management
• Liaising with Business Application Teams, Regional IT Teams, Global Infrastructure Support and IT Security Teams to resolve issues, complete tasks and deliver projects in a timely fashion.
Governance
• Planning and completing designated projects from start to end, providing regular updates on task and project status and ensuring project deadlines are met on time.
• Responsible for the SLA section related to the tower: SLA definition, reporting, dashboards.
• Ensure the coordination and collaboration with Global Head of the relevant functional area.
• Ensure that the instructions and guidelines of the Group (esp. IT Security guidelines and Global ITI&P Governance) are respected and the architecture is validated.
• Responsible for controls to be run for as well as the closure of audit points related to the tower.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Essential:
· High skills on Veritas NetBackup on Linux environments (GUI and CLI setup, management and troubleshooting)
· High skills on EMC Data domain and OST interface with NetBackup
· Skills on Quantum tape libraries
· 10 years’ experience working in an equivalent position
· Team and collaborative working to develop and deliver appropriate solutions skills.
· Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines.
· Customer service-oriented skills.
Desirable:
· Definition of backup architecture Veritas Netbackup - DataDomain - Quantum i6k
· Scripts and automation (Shell, Bash, Python, ansible)
