RISK is an integrated and independent control function of the BNP Paribas Group. It is the second line of defence on the risk management activities of the Group which are under its direct responsibilities, including credit and counterparty risk, market risk, funding and liquidity risk, interest rate and foreign exchange risks in the banking book, insurance risk, operational risk and environmental and social risks.
RISK aims at being a partner of the businesses by contributing to their sustainable development, but also a gatekeeper to ensure risks taken remain compatible with the Group’s Risk Appetite and its strategy. RISK teams engage in an upstream dialogue with businesses to better understand their strategy, objectives and then they express their opinions and recommendations.
RISK Consulting & Transformation is a transversal team supporting RISK in its strategic projects and transformation efforts. The team, through its deep understanding of RISK organization and processes, contributes to projects around five main Practices:
- Transformation
- Data, Simulation and Models
- Credit & Regulatory risk
- Market, Counterparty and Liquidity risk
- Operational risk
RISK Consulting & Transformation Iberia consists of 15+ people (Madrid and Lisbon) is an extension team of the head office but operating as “one team” with our onshore colleagues, contributing to projects in different locations and regions.
Scope of the role
All RISK Streams and activities worldwide, acting as one team from the different locations, collaborating with other RISK teams, local Services and Management, as well as relevant stakeholders in the Business Lines and other Functions.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Assist in consulting missions for internal RISK customers and stakeholders. This includes supporting project framing with the Sponsor(s) and Product Owner(s), helping define deliverables, and assisting in project planning.
- Support the identification and mitigation of project risks, assist in designing and implementing project governance, and help secure project delivery by escalating issues and proposing relevant mitigation actions.
- Monitor project progress under supervision, propose adjustments, and measure project performance to identify areas of improvement.
- Report achievements and progress to the head of mission, sponsors, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of the team through active participation in internal projects and the promotion of internal consulting within the Group.
- Participate in missions/projects with internal customers and contribute to the team’s intellectual capital development via knowledge management.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor degree (business, engineering...).
- Experience: 2-5 years in consulting or project management in the financial/banking sector, particularly in risk management.
- English: Full professional competence (min C1).
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written) to understand and explain in synthetic way complex topics.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills to lead a project and interact with senior stakeholders in a multicultural and fast-driven environment.
- Problem solving, creative and innovative.
- Forward thinking to anticipate business / strategic evolution / change.
- Collaborative player (teamwork) in a remote working environment.
