Business Continuity Manager

Business Continuity at CIB ITO CCCO aims at managing the potential discontinuity of business services for CIB through its main fields of Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management, IT Continuity, Physical Security as well as the controls over these. As such it encompasses all businesses for CIB in an end-to-end perspective with a special highlight and focus on dependencies outside the entity (elsewhere in the bank or 3rd parties). It also yields are an ambitious program to bring together re-usable capacities or solutions that can be assembled to address a discontinuity scenario.

 Main responsibilities:

  •  Manage local team & squads and take a leading part in the staffing and developing the talents and skills required;
  • Strengthen the governance and framework around Continuity services provided to Brazil;
  • Ensure regulatory and group Continuity requirements are met, and develop local policies, standards and guidelines on information asset protection;
  • Maintain strong working relationship with local regulators;
  • Ensure partnering with CIB Americas BCM counterparts to strengthen regional alignment of the program ;
  • Coordinate with senior business staff members to further increase continuity and resilience awareness and to develop a resilience-oriented culture ;
  • Awareness / Training / Animation: to promote and drive awareness on continuity across CIB; to assist in organising risk meetings, forums and committees with community members;
  • Create and enforce continuity controls within the CIB Continuity framework;
  • Risk Identification and Assessment: to challenge and verify CIB risk identification, ensure the consistency of scenarios and their quantification, conduct risk assessment (incident review, post mortem analysis), and validate closure of permanent control actions;
  • Risk Treatment and Decision: to oversee of he risk treatment process (risk acceptance, risk transfer, risk remediation) performed by CIB, give opinion in co-decision Committees (eg: NAC/TAC or similar) leading to escalation in case of disagreement, challenge and sign off on CIB Continuity profile, key decisions and remediation plans;
  • Risk Reporting, Monitoring and Alert: to provide independent Continuity reporting and consolidated view to CIB and RISK Senior management and supervisors; to support management on incidents and crisis management (e.g. security events); to alert Senior Management and stakeholders on critical points for attention;
  • Audit Recommendations and Permanent controls follow-up;
  • Managing Continuity related Committees;
  • Manage the budget for these activities;
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve goals.

Position Requirements:

  • Proponent of continuous improvement processes with the ability to challenge the status quo; a change agent.
  • Ability to drive impact and change in a complex global environment, working successfully through a matrix structure.
  • Relationship builder who can partner with internal auditors and regulators to drive appropriate governance, risk, and compliance frameworks and programs and take us to a "well managed" position with regulators and market infrastructures 
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions under pressure while inspiring team members to improve processes. 
  • Be a persuasive influencer with both functions and business communities throughout the organization across diverse teams and locations.
  • Emotional intelligence and negotiation qualities. 
  • Strategic leader who can drive a vision for while maintaining an execution-orientation for driving results; success will depend on strong business acumen and existing knowledge of best practices plus the ability to adapt and evolve these practices to the bank's needs.
  • Strong influencing skills to get things done; s/he must have a collaborative approach with the ability to partner with cross-functional business leaders across the global enterprise.
  • Strong business acumen with a good understanding of business drivers with the ability to provide support for the executive team. 
  • Influence and communicate credibly with the executive management and other group colleagues to translate the vision and report on the progress of the initiatives; ability to communicate continuity and resilience related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences.
