About the job
The Operational and Permanent Control Team Manager is responsible to manage all teams that ensure the coordination of the Control framework relating to all operational risks, including Fraud, Third Party, Conduct, Compliance, Regulatory, Information & Communication Technology risks, and other risk types. OPC is responsible for the deployment of internal policies and procedures issued by specialized independent control functions part of Risk teams (2nd Line of Defense), and for the compliance with external regulatory and supervisory requirements.
Your Main Activities Are
• Define and align OPC team strategy considering the priorities set by BNP Paribas. Anticipates and integrates new scope, new activities and functions assessing the requirements and ensuring the efficient management and allocation of resources. Prepares and validates on a yearly basis the budget exercise
• Guarantee the quality and timetable of activities ensuring a high level of quality, by ensuring the effective organization and coordination of the different activities and assuring the proper checks and controls are in place. Ensures the daily / weekly/monthly/ quarterly/ bi-annual and annual planning of the team activities and is duly in place defining clear and measurable goals. Ensures the proper organization is in place within the team and that all team members have the necessary support to deliver the activities under their responsibility. Acts as local OPC maximum escalation level for OPC topics ensuring the proper escalation path is followed-up
• Coordinate the recruitment process with Manager and HR, from need identification and interview to validation of profile. Define and monitor team-training plan. Ensure new team members welcome and integration in the teams, monitoring training and evolution, sharing feedback with direct manager and/or HR, when appropriate
• Manage people accordingly to their skills and with purpose of continuous improvement, sponsoring initiatives and learning increase. Foster people growth within the team or in the company, preparing team and activity for mobility. Define objectives for the year and perform regular objective review with each staff member, to align performance with objectives. Share team performance assessment with the management in a timely manner to facilitate the compensation review process

• Accountable for the local OPC deliverables and performance for the scope under responsibility. Ensure that the team is complying with the OPC roles and responsibilities mentioned on relevant Group Procedures. Contribute to OPC reporting in a synthetic and comprehensive way
• Foster the diffusion of risks culture within OPC and business scope and sponsors or leads OPC projects and contribute to Local Territory and governance participating to committees and meetings, sharing best practices and keeping a network with remaining OPC teams
• Manage Reports and KPIs by defining the activity indicators that allows monitoring OPC activities ensuring the indicators are SMART. Perform the analysis, shares results with relevant stakeholders and develops the necessary action plans for unsatisfactory results reporting to hierarchy critical situations. Defines with Business Heads and ensure the creation of the necessary reports (eg: monthly report) for Business Management
• Support Business development by identifying or sponsoring with team members the identification and implementation of possible improvements on activity and procedures, Respect the norms and standards of BNP Paribas. Contributes and sponsors within the team the active participation to strategic projects /global or local) where OPC expertise is required. Contributes actively to the identification of organizational improvements to mitigate risk. Builds and validates business cases with Business Heads and Head of Unit. Takes the lead on promoting and implementing these initiatives and measuring the impacts
Profile and Skills to Success
• Academic background in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Business Management
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Compliance, Risk and Controls, Project Management and Consulting
• Proficiency in MS Office Pack Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Word
• Fluency in English
• Critical thinking
• Risk Management- Risk analysis and monitoring
• Internal Audit knowledge
• Ability to anticipate business/strategic evolution
