31.01.2007 | Corporate philanthropy
These paintings with a Far East tinge also feature exotic animals and water fowls. They represent the rich variety of animals that were used to be kept in the Chantilly's menagerie, which was destroyed during the French Revolution. It was extremely popular amongst the chateau's many guests in the 18th century.
These paintings are an essential part of the chateau's collections and their restoration will delight thousands of visitors who come to Chantilly each year.
