Given the Group's commitment to sustainability and its increasing importance to clients BNP Paribas Real Estate has decided to be part of the programme “Companies for eMilan”.
Set up by the Bosch Group and Arval, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Group, this initiative provides charge spots across the metropolitan area to refill electric vehicles on each building developed by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
The aim of the programme is to reduce pollution within the Milan area, allowing the employees to continue to move freely within the city centre (to which access will be restricted for conventional vehicles in the near future), using special bus and taxi lanes with their electric cars.
“Sustainable development has always been a defining element of our corporate policy. All the buildings that we have constructed, respond to the strictest sustainable energy-saving measures. For this reason, we have decided to take a step forward and promote sustainable transportation. This said, each new building will provide charge spots for electric vehicle drivers, thanks to an agreement recently signed with Arval”, explained Cesare Ferrero, Head of BNP Paribas Real Estate in Italy.
Starting in 2012, the first charge spots will be installed at the participating companies. All in all, these companies employ more than 2,100 employeesin the greater Milan area. In the initial phase, each company will run up to eight electric vehicles and the charge spots will be placed at a distance of between 4 km and 43 km maximum, assuring in this way a regular mobility across the city.
