BNP Paribas and its Foundation support the restoration of two masterpices conserved at Barcelona and Munnich
01.03.2012 | Corporate philanthropy
Main sponsor of museums, the BNP Paribas Foundation lends its support to the restoration of two paintings from the Neue Pinakothek collection of Munich and the National Museum for the Catalan Art in Barcelona.
Lock in the Optevoz Valley by Gustave Courbet (1819-1877), preserved in the Neue Pinakothek of Munich/ Doerner Institut
Acquired by the museum in 1910, the masterpiece needs to be scrubbed off, in order to give the colors their original brightness. Scientific research on this painting will permit to better understand the work's genesis. An initiative supported both by the Foundation and BNP Paribas Germany.
The conversion of Saint-Paul, attributed to Juan Bautista Maino (1581-1647), kept in the National Museum for the Catalan Art in Barcelona
